I love this song, it is perfection in every way. Live Queen is always outstanding but so are the studio versions. My favorite live Queen is "White Queen" live at Odeon, Hammersmith, 1975 also "Somebody to Love," live at Montreal 1981. Both of those performances will blow your mind, you will love them. They are perfection by every band member. Thank you for your reaction.

In addition to all the great comments I suggest you listen to and/or watch their studio songs first. Then watch their live concert in Montreal 1981 and be blown away with their perfect and exciting live performance. Then finish it off with their Live Aid appearance in 1985. I can't pick out a favorite song because their songs are so diverse and fun, but I am partial to "Somebody to Love".

Thank you for the reaction Silas! Queen is one of the most amazing bands with four very talented musicians coming together to change music forever! My recommendation would be to react to the first three albums, a track at a time, because each is brilliant and rarely reacted to. Start with track one from Queen I and go on to Queen II and Sheer Heart Attack! That was you can see how the band progressed from their earliest days together. When you get to "White Queen" (it's on Side White of Queen II) be sure to look for the live version from the Hammersmith Odeon 1975. You can find live versions of many early songs from that concert or The Rainbow 1974! The journey will be very worth it, Silas!!!

A good Queen album to listen in its entirety is, 'A Night at the Opera.' From beginning to end the album kicks ass. Three songs in a row I used to listen to is DEATH ON TWO LEGS, LAZING ON A SUNDAY AFTERNOON, and I'M IN LOVE WITH MY CAR (Sung by Roger Taylor). Of course, Bohemian Rhapsody is on that album too.

Sheer Heart Attack is my favourite Queen album. You should review the whole album, as well as Queen 1 and Queen 2. I saw Queen live in 1974 just before this album was released. They were supporting Mott the Hoople at the time. I love every track on this album, but you must particularly listen to the guitar solo on Brighton Rock.

Brilliant song written by Freddie Mercury in his 20’s. You might say Queen were highly sophisticated musical geniuses and just kids. There’s so much fabulousness for you to hear I don’t know where to begin. They are almost always best Live. You could start with Bohemian Rhapsody ( the original video a great place to start ) the Somebody to love ( Live in Milton Keynes OR Live in Montreal ) By then you ‘ll be madly crazy in love with Queen and sorry you were born too late 😂😂 Have fun ✌🏼

Hey Silas, that album logo for 'Sheer Heart Attack' is the one directly before 'Night at the Opera' from which Bohemian Rhapsody comes. These 2 albums were their first huge commercial successes. No filler on either and for that matter not on any of the albums which I have of Queen. You should check out this one first I reckon 'Brighton Rock' will knock your socks off, and with 'Stone Cold Crazy' we'll witness you break your chair. 🤣 Not joking✌😁

That chorus means 1 person only, Freddie was harmonising with himself. Killer Queen was one song which was really out of the format that I usually write in, said Freddie in a 1974 interview. „Usually the music comes first, but the words came to me, and the sophisticated style that I wanted to put across in the song came first. No, I’d never really met a woman like that. A lot of my songs are fantasy.” I wrote it in one night. „I scribbled down the words in the dark one Saturday night and the next morning I got them all together and I worked all day Sunday and that was it.”

Probably the singles you’ve heard, but there’s a lot of excellent stuff on their first five albums - Queen / Queen II / Sheet Heart Attack / A Night At The Opera / A Day At The Races / White Man of the latter album is my fave all time song of theirs, as albums to listen to I strongly recommend these five, I feel it’s their best output (side one of their debut album is awesome) and on the second and third albums the songs sometimes run into each other.

Not really. Queen already had at least 10 top 40 hits, two number 1s. All of their hits were prior to the concert. They were one of the biggest stadium rock bands touring in the 80s. Their greatest Hits album was already a multi-platinum seller. Many people rate their performance in Live Aid to be the best performance ever, and it put Queen back at the top. But they were already huge before the show.

If you want to give yourself a real treat, watch Queen at Live Aid 1985. Many people consider it the best set in rock history. The movie Bohemian Rhapsody has some great music in it, but it isn't very factual. The movie writers added a lot of their own drama to make a "better" movie.

Hey Silas... Liked "Killer Queen" eh?? Maybe, try Brian May's solo guitar works, like "Last Horizon" or the greatest finger-picking "Resurrection" or maybe just a cool 12-string acoustic "Another World" or my fav "Nothin' But Blue", a song he wrote the night Freddie died, or one many people say is the most beautiful song ever written, "Bijou"... blessings. P.S. If that's not enough, you might try "Dream of Thee", a soundtrack for a French movie he did back in 1998, or "Holy Man", a collaboration with the late, great Taylor Hawkins of a Dennis Wilson (beach Boys fame) song... enjoy!

Queen did the soundtrack to the 1980 movie version of Flash Gordon. It was a cornball movie that was so bad, that it was good. @@79BlackRose True. There's a lot to that. That's sort of my quote when the reacter starts reading all about the song before listening to it. You know, they know Wish You Were Here is about Sid Barrett before they even know who Sid Barrett is. But I'm just talking about what reaction videos I want to watch now. You got to realize too, that most of these guys doing these reaction videos, may never hear the song again. I want it to make the biggest impression. Silas may go back and watch the videos again with the visuals.
@79BlackRose
@79BlackRose Жыл бұрын
@@debjorgo I understand what you are saying. But don't you think that videos often detract from the song? For example, the Still Loving You video by The Scorpions is an edited version whereas the album version is so much better. Silas reacted to One by U2 and I am pleased he avoided the video and could concentrate on the words not the images. People bang on about watching the live for TV version of Child in Time by Deep Purple, yet the guitar solo is quite off in several places. But he nails it on the original version and even takes it to a higher level on the Made in Japan album. As a rule of thumb, I think it is GENERALLY better to react to the original version first and explore other versions/videos later.
@debjorgo
@debjorgo Жыл бұрын
@@79BlackRose I agree with reacting to the original video. And I'm not saying always watch the video. The Aerosmith Sweet Emotion video complete distracts from the song. It has people believing the song is about telephone sex operators. It's up to us to point out the versions that should be watched. Speaking of Deep Purple, the Highway Star video is (effing) great. It shows the band doing the song live but cut from different performances, with the studio audio. It's the video you have to watch.
