I remember getting so excited about learning new words as a child. Every week we had a new set of vocabulary words. In fourth grade we learned puzzled was another term for confused. So a week or so later my English teacher was trying to explain a lesson to me and I said “Ms. Codispody, I’m puzzled.” She laughed so hard. I asked if I had used the word right. She said I had, but it wasn’t something she expected from a nine year old. 😂😂😂

These are words every native English speaker should know at least by their late teens. Not even from school; just because they're pretty simple words. Who hasn't seen an ad for an "exclusive deal?" Or the idea of an exclusive club? "Subsequent," fine, a bit more obscure, but not really. I'm no genius and I've known that word as far back as I can remember. Maybe this guy needs to read something other than Buzzfeed once in awhile?

I used to study the dictionary when I was younger. I would read my Merriam-Webster dictionary & would always write various words in a composition notebook that I owned. I really loved doing that. I wanted to expand my vocabulary. I'd incorporate so many new terms into my everyday life. I still have a very extensive vocabulary as an adult. Many adults that are many years older than me can't comprehend what I'm saying. It's very sad, but it explains why education in the USA has always been subpar dating back decades. Education in USA has always been very lacking. The foolishness that children are learning in the classrooms in 2023 is very concerning.
