@@chasetheonetruesaviourofhu3925 that's why you learn to adapt. Or run your material by the principal since it's a school event. That's the battle of public gigs where you can talk about anything VS private gigs where you have to know what you're not allowed to bring up. Even besides all that, the joke he was telling took way too long to say nothing and he never bothered to revisit it to deliver the punchline. I've done PG13 gigs and had to cater to that with material I didnt even like. But I still made it work. His setup could have been cut in half and then in half one more time. @@chasetheonetruesaviourofhu3925 doesnt matter how old he is. Lots of people start stand up in their 20s and 30s and suck at it. And do you think that comedians know everybody in every club they perform? They dont so your point means nothing. I didnt say he had to write material he hated, but he didnt try to relate to the audience at all and didnt clear his material with the principal in charge. It's just like performing for late night talk shows. You cant say anything you want cuz they have to follow FCC rules and change wordings so the show doesnt get sued by anybody. It's a dept called standards and practices and they can really fuck up a joke. But they go over the material well in advance to allow changes and work-arounds. This kid prob thought he could get away with anything and failed to prepare or have any contingencies. The fact he was new, should have worked to his advantage in this setting since he didnt have to reestablish himself and people would be curious to get a sense of what the new kid is like. Even besides all that, one of his jokes had a setup that lasted forever and went nowhere. That means it's likely the rest of his unapproved material was similar. He doesnt know how to write a joke, and can barely read a room. Objectively he wasnt funny, but people keep throwing "what ifs" instead of looking at what is

Teenagers must be the toughest crowd out there. They don't shut up, they try to heckle you, they don't understand certain jokes and humor, but die when they hear "your mom." Lmao, this guy was actually doing really good, just a tough crowd, I bet with well quality written jokes he can do great. Think about it, performing in front of a whole school, and he's brand new there, wow! Can't wait to hear of him in the future

Ok, seriously, I don’t get why there are so many people hating on him. Was it the best act/burn ever seen? No it wasn’t, but I chuckled at the jokes and laughed at the burn, maybe you didn’t, maybe you thought it was stupid, if you did then just click off the video and you’re done. I had a good time and it made me a little happier, and if it did the same to even 1% of viewers it was a video worth making, because to the people that didn’t like it they lost at most 4 minutes of their time, and to the people who did like it had their day go a little brighter, and that’s what matters. Just my personal opinion.

A lot of people are saying it wasn’t funny and the entire act relied on it- he literally said that there was going to be more but it got cut short by the principal right before he went on. It may not have been the most original thing to say, but the delivery was spot on, and also, the kid’s in high school, you can’t compare him to experienced adult comedians who’ve been in the business for decades. Come on, now, you wouldn’t compare an artist just getting into collage to Michelangelo, your standards are way too high.
