Between this, Ghostbusters x MIB, and Power Rangers Heroes of the Grid, I totally am doing the same thing. Thanks for the vid! Love the intros.

@@StrawHatLaw13 Every game you mentioned is great! Power Rangers: Heroes of the Grid is awesome! That did a great job making you feel like a Power Ranger. I ended up getting a bunch of expansions for it. I even bought the Megazord, Goldar and Cyclopsis and I really want to paint the Megazord. The Squatt and Baboo expansion was the most recent expansion I bought. I wouldn’t mind making a playthrough of that game. Also, there is another video that I’m working on that has done a great job translating the source material into a board game form. Hopefully I’ll be done with that in a few days. Nostalgia has been really strong, while playing board games lately.

We all do that due to media. Look at cobra Kai, tmnt movies, gi joe deck builder, power ranger deck builder. All coasting on us mid 30’s guys nostalgia. The new boomers. Lmao I don’t mind it if they make them as good as they have been.

@@boardsandstuff5008 I agree. Growing up, video games based on our favorite shows rarely were any good. Board games are doing a great job respecting the source material all while being good games, as well. I understand that nostalgia. At 40, I still enjoy reminiscing about the good ol’ days!

I love how you present your games. You make them look good and I actually understand how the games generally work. You have become my favorite channel for solo games, which is the only way I been playing the past two years. Thanks for doing this for all of us lonely gamers 😇👍

Since I have a few videos currently in the process of being filmed, I can’t add anything else, for now. However, I am planning to make “Game Night” videos that will be voted on by you and others. I’ll make sure to include TMNT in the poll. Personally, I’d love to make a playthrough of it!

So there are missions against Shredder and co. and you can't do these missions if you don't have City Fall?
@SoloBoardGamingKnight7 ай бұрын
Right. That’s the biggest negative of this game. You could just buy City Fall but then you don’t get the Turtles! Either way you go, to get the full TMNT experience, you’ll need both boxes.
@Sismanski Жыл бұрын
So, should I bother getting Shadows of the Past or just try to get those two boxes instead? Shadows of the Past is fairly cheaply available, while those two are kinda hard to get I guess
@SoloBoardGamingKnight Жыл бұрын
From my understanding, Shadows of the Past is a competitive board game. The only way you can play cooperatively or solo (by playing as all the turtles at once) is via Change Is Constant and City Fall. I wasn’t aware that these games were difficult to find but I wouldn’t recommend paying more than $90 per box (which is roughly how much I paid for each box). Also, I think you’ll find a lot of enjoyment from this game if you are a fan of TMNT. Hope this helped!
@Sismanski Жыл бұрын
@@SoloBoardGamingKnight They are not easily available (or anymore) in Europe. Only 1-2 shady shops sell them for 120+ €. None outside US or Australia at Boardgamegeek :( Shadows of the Past someone is selling in Belgium for 50€. Not sure, if it's worth getting Shadows of the Past for now. I heard a lot of complaints about that game quality from 2016.
@SoloBoardGamingKnight Жыл бұрын
@@Sismanski I would probably say it’s not worth buying Shadows of the Past. I had heard a lot of negativity behind it that was actually addressed and fixed in Change Is Constant and City Fall. Not only can you play them cooperatively but also competitively and it fixed a lot of issues Shadows of the Past had (although I never played it to compare). Too bad IDW went out of business. Now there is a chance for scalpers to charge an unfair amount for those games. If you ever find it for a good price, I highly recommend that you add it to your collection.

That is actually a very relatable comment! Lol! I know how you feel! You made my day!
@SeanUCF2 жыл бұрын
I noticed you said that you felt it would play better at 1-2 players. I haven't played the game yet, but I generally find that when a game is meant for multiple people and 1 or 2 people try to manage what was meant for 3 or 4, it can be overwhelming, especially when you have to control an A.I as well. Is managing your characters easy and light enough in this game where it doesn't get overwhelming to manage all 4 or even 2 characters?
@SoloBoardGamingKnight2 жыл бұрын
The game itself feels very tactical with the amount of moves at your disposal and terrain restrictions and actions that need to be assessed. With that written, the characters themselves are not overwhelming to control. The reason that I mentioned that I think it works best with one or two players is because since there are so many options at your disposal, it may take a while for your turn if others take a long time to make their decisions. It works perfectly fine at all player counts but because of what I mentioned, I’d prefer to play solo or with another player. You get more playtime that way. It’s really a personal preference more than anything but that is my reasoning. It’s very enjoyable and the Batman Shadow of the Bat is neat, as well (works and plays exactly the same for the most part). Thankfully, when it comes to the A.I., it’s very simple to control. That, however, does require a good understanding of the rulebook and the game mechanics. Once you have the rules down, the game moves very smoothly. I hope I was able to answer your questions.
@SeanUCF2 жыл бұрын
@@SoloBoardGamingKnight Thanks, you did. I find there is a VERY fine line in some games between wanting a medium sized group (3-4 players) because it would be too difficult to manage all on your own vs wanting just 1-2 players because all the decisions need to be so coordinated, that you would just end up with 1-2 alpha gamers dictating the whole game anyway. I was just curious where this "Adventure system" falls. From your experience, it sounds like it might be better at smaller player counts to make sure all the character turns are highly coordinated.
@SoloBoardGamingKnight2 жыл бұрын
@@SeanUCF I definitely prefer small player counts. The “Adventure System” is used to be able to mix and match other games with the “Adventure System” moniker. For example, you could mix the TMNT and Batman board games together to form your own stories and scenarios. Unfortunately, IDW Games went out of business, therefore, we will not be receiving any more games within the “Adventure System.” Personally, I really enjoyed playing the game solo because I was able to have control over all of the characters and decide how I wanted to strategize. It’s really easy and fun to play (once you learn all of the rules). With that written, if you do not enjoy playing multi-handed, this may not be for you. I always play multi-handed and I’m used to it. Currently, I’m playing Bardsung with 5 heroes at the same time. I love doing that! However, I know it’s not for everyone. If you feel unsure, I wouldn’t buy it because it is pretty expensive. It is up to you, however.
