I have to say my favorite game from this collection is the original teenage mutant Ninja turtles for the NES this was one of the first games I ever played and to this day I still can't beat it but it's nice to have save states now so I can go back on my progress it's so hard to choose though they're all great games but that's the one I would have to pick as my personal favorite

Those never ending days of summer with your friends, re-playing scenes of your favourite TV series and ending the day by ordering pizza and playing multiplayer in front of your SNES and Mega Drive til' the moms call each friend home one by one. Miss those easy days full of joy, friends, family and videogames so much.

Loved the collection, got caught up in it for a solid week or so, and besides the nostalgia has a ton of cool extras going for it. I'll almost always pickup these kinds of releases, helps preserve an important part of gaming history. The late 80s and early 90s were incredible when it came to both the arcade scene and also the inevitable licensed games companies were putting out.

indeed the moment this was announced I knew I had to pick it up asap, and after it dropped last month that's just what I did! had to pick it up physically just to have it that way. it's definitely been a humongous nostalgia trip for me, a good chunk of the games I remember playing in arcades and at home! and not to mention the turtle truckload of extras, old ads, design documents (many of with with english translations!) and many box and manual scans there's so much extra stuff it's just mindblowing! a definite must-own for any retrogamer turtles fan!

Fall of the Foot Clan was the first TMNT game I ever heard of. I saw my friends playing it on their Gameboy and I told my parents I wanted a Turtles game as well. Since I only had a Gameboy back then and not a NES, they bought it for me... or rather, they bought Back from the Sewers. I was confused that the game was so different from the one my friends played, but as I played more of it, I grew to love it. It helped solidify my fondness of not only TMNT, but also Nintendo games as a whole.

Cerebus is kind of a legendary indie comic that, while it was never licensed for cartoons and became kind of dour and up it's own ass 'serious' book, deserves a bit more than a sarchastic "Okay?". It was the pinnicale of indie comics pre 84 in the US.. that's why Eastman and Laird were fans.
@cthulhupthagn5771
@cthulhupthagn5771 2 жыл бұрын
At least that's how it started out, then the longer he started working on the comic the more he started to unravel, with the comic degenerating into some chapters that were nothing more than handwritten essays about how much he didn't like women. The author kind of disappeared for a while, and has been enmeshed in some controversy related to his comments made with regards to dating Barely Legal women. For all that, I wouldn't mind reading the comic at least the first half of it, but it's not always the easiest thing to get hold of and quite frankly I don't know that I want to send this dude any money if he's selling new releases of it.

the SNES turtles in time did not actually use "mode 7" (sprite scaling. call a spade a spade. mode 7 is a dumb gimmicky name just as dumb as "blast processing") for when the foot clan was thrown towards the screen. it was simply redrawn enemy sprites of varying sizes. You'll notice it's choppier than real sprite scaling, because it's not scaling. I don't know why Konami went this route, probably rushed development.

I was a kid who was greatly disappointed by the first Ninja Turtles game, and then thrilled after seeing the arcade game, ported to NES, plus a couple extra levels! This was a great disappointment, followed by great excitement about a year later. I completely understand why this is still vivid to you, as the memory is still vivid to me. EDIT: I'd honestly rather play TMNT: Fall of the Foot Clan for Gameboy than the first NES Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game, mainly due to the lack of annoying (electric!!!) platform elements and unnecessary/awkward RPG. Fun fact: the Konami/Contra Code works in TMNT: Fall of the Foot Clan, with the similar trick, you put in The Code in the start menu. I forgot what it does, but it's one memory I have from it. It's definitely for something that makes competing the game a bit easier. EDIT 2: Gamefaqs reminds us that The Konami Code can be used throughout the game, and when you do it you *replenish health*. I misspoke when I said that you use it on the start screen -- I blame Mandela Effect here, but regardless, I apologise for the mix up.

I got to play it as a kid while on vacation at my cousin's house and absolutely loved it. While I eventually got a Sega Genesis along with "Hyperstone Heist" and its version of "Tournament Fighters," I always missed being able to play that fantastic NES game. Over 20 years later, I finally got my chance to play it again by getting a NES/SNES clone console and a used copy of the game (as well as the NES and SNES ports of the two arcade games). I still consider it to be one of the best NES games ever made and right up there with "Kirby's Adventure" as the two absolutely best looking NES games.

The Hyperstone Heist is a remix game with content from the original arcade game, Turtles 3 (NES) and Turtles in Time. And while i like the genesis very much, I cannot agree with your verdict. The soundtrack never sounded half as awesome as on the Super NES. Turtles in Time on SNES has such an iconic soundtrack that is even better than the arcade original.

Is it an actual analog controller? Or just one big pad over the 4 buttons/pads that just acts as an "D-Pad" for the shooting direction? I tried searcing for it, but nothing came up. The Mega Drive did have an analog controller, but I am not sure if the Mega Drive can do 360 rotation or just "more/less" in the normal directions/inputs.

I loved all turtles games, just wished they did a game today with the same animation style and voices etc. as the 1987 cartoon. Think about Batman Arkham city style game but TMNT themed.

A new game with the same animation style and voices as the '87 cartoon? You mean like "Shredder's Revenge"?

Fall of the foot clan was not a hidden gem is the US. It was huge over here. Big commercials from video power and the Nintendo gameboy players guide. Now the third game boy game I would say is a hidden gem.

@@slopesgameroom Must've been! As a youngin' back then, I know at least four or five friends in my grade that had it! My best friend had it and I borrowed it all the time! I know Nintendo wasn't as big in the UK, so I'm sure that is probably it! You do great work! Keep it up!
