Monster hit, #1 for five weeks. Gorgeous song and video. Always thought it would have been perfect for Diana Ross, Vanessa's phrasing on this sounds just like her. She also had Top 10's with "Dreamin'", duet "Love Is" with Brian McKnight, and "Colors Of The Wind" from Disney's movie Pocohantas, which you might know. Had several other, smaller Top 40 hits.

Vanessa is so talented. She was America's first Black Miss America. Until they took the title from her because someone found some nude shots of her. And she was deemed unworthy of the title. The organization apologized to her later. Anyway...she proved she was more by becoming a recording artist and actress. Check out the Right Stuff and Running Back to You. And this song. She also starred in movies with Schwarzenegger in Eraser. She also made Soul Food and several other films. She's also done musicals on Broadway.

You must be from the UK? Dina Carroll had a huge career in the 90s and early 2000s in the UK- but not much exposure to the US market. And yes, her and Vanessa do share a similar look and vocal style! They are both at the top of my list of favorite female singers. Nice surprise to see someone mention her.
