This brought back an early childhood memory, I was maybe 5 years old and this movie was on the TV. I didn't get the plot except there was a bad guy from space turning people into skeletons with a disintegrator ray gun and I thought that was incredibly cool. I remember getting as far as the part where the bad guy says I can hear you breathing, and my mom came in and didn't think much of the movie. I protested and said he's got a disintegrator ray mom! She was unimpressed and changed the channel.

ALTERNATIVE ENDING: Our hero cries out, "I need more power!" As he holds his formerly useless apparatus firmly with both hands, Derek squeezes mightily and suddenly feels a strong intense surge flow through his hands. With great focus, our hero directs a powerful but timely, full frontal blast directly into the face of his nemesis and dispatches the fishy smelling beast before his weapon is spent and is once again rendered useless. Relieved and breathing heavily, Derek then turns to our heroine, Betty, and says, "I know what it is I must do now." "To fully complete my task here I shall require two items. "First, I must have access to what your people call tissue to remove any errant residual matter of my power blast." "And, secondly I will need an oral respiratory decompression device." "It is what your people call, A CIG-AR-ETTE." With several deep inhalations and exhalations, Derek extinguishes the device. And with one long and passionate kiss, and several hearty handshakes, our hero bids farewell to Betty, the object of his earthly affection, and his newfound friends. Then boarding the interstellar craft that will return him to his home world, Derek waves one final time and departs earth. Derek's efforts to defeat his people's plan to transform earth into a global Red Lobster holding tank for the Gorgons were successful much to their dismay. His people's goal for interstellar Lobsterfests and Crawdad Boils will have to wait.

I understand life expectancy was shorter. And life took a toll on age factor. But I never imagined, 16 year old teenagers could look to be 35 and more. Gosh darn, life was hard !

The title is confusing. None of them look like teenagers.

Funny only if you don't know that the correct pronunciation of "Uranus" is "YOO-ruh-nus."

Maybe they left their planet when they were teens otherwise what a great movie. I don't understand why it didn't get any academy awards that year. Could it be it was up against William Wyler's Ben Hur which won 12 Oscars. lol I saw this movie when I was 8 years old. I laughed all the way through it.

The book he's reading at 1:06:39 is "The Flying Saucers Are Real" by Donald Keyhoe, published in 1950, and the cover art is by Frank Tinsley.

I saw this when I was four, and, was really into flying saucers then. It was also the age I discovered the first frisbee.

Wow, this film had a big cast. I'll bet that those actors made $300 or $400 apiece.

It was pretty good. The acting was a tad stiff but the story was interesting enough to overcome the shortcomings. Thanks for posting!!!!

Wow..the great character actor King Moody as a teenage alien! He went on to star in numerous 60's and 70's television shows such as Dragnet,Andy Griffith, and Barney Miller to name a few.

Silly and juvenile, that's for sure, but I like its naïve charm. It comes across as being a live-action Speed Racer episode. Betty, in fact, looks, sounds and acts a lot like Trixie! And I find the deadly ray gun scenes genuinely startling, particularly when the young woman in the pool is zapped. A fun, whacky film. Thanks for posting it. Another low budget 50's sci fi flick that I've heard of but never seen is "Five". Maybe you could find and post it? That'd be great. Thanx again.
