I don’t know why I have such an issue with this comment. Idk.. I think that’s a terrible thing to base someone’s worth based on grades. All my life I was a C plus student until I got to college and got straight A’s but I turned out better than my pupils! I just remember struggling really bad in school but in real life, I excelled! They all still live with their parents! We are well into our 30s and they still rely on their parents. I have been working since I was 9! Very little of that stemmed from public school. Honestly, it was just life! I worked for one of the richest people on the Planet! I just never understood that pressure, when I turned out better than everyone else that performed better than me when I was in school.

I love how no matter wat Amber has done Gary has always told Leah to love and respect her and never let her talk bad but also told her the truth. He’s doing a great job as a dad

That’s how it always should be. Mothers and fathers should really learn to separate the personal issues that they have as adults from the issues with the children. It’s unfortunate so many broken families won’t do the same.

Yea I think he had a really bad relationship with his own mom & refuses to let that happen with Leah even though Amber has her issues. I think Gary truly understands that not all ppl have it together & that's ok. He's not one to lord that over them, but will hold them accountable.

Gary & Kristina have done a great job raising Leah however it’s heartbreaking because Amber should see what her violence, selfish ways and drug use has done to her children! Leah had to grow up fast because of Amber’s abandonment and now James won’t have his biological mom in the picture! Everyone makes mistakes but Amber has massive mistakes checklist than the average person and yet this show keeps her on which only continues to enable Amber because she won’t hit rock bottom till she really has no money for drugs or being able to live a lavish life anymore and that’s really when people turn their life around and begin to act right!

it’s so wrong when children are taken from their mothers and judges don’t put orders in place to keep the bond while also protecting the child. It’s never good for a baby to be taken away from his mother except under very drastic circumstances where the mother is evil- there can always be mediation to allow for a healthy environment foe the child and mother. It’s so sad, I can’t imagine her devastation.

It's no joke to be estranged from a parent in childhood. Even though MH and SA abuses are often the culprit, it still impact the child. I went through it with my dad from age 9 through most of my adult life. But God! Now, we are in touch and communicate regularly. It's not like a traditional father daughter relationship but we care for each other and that's something. Relationships don't always change but when they do, it's a gift.

It is sad to see Amber’s family, having to deal with the aftermath of amber losing her court battle. But with all Amber has done throughout her life that has been documented on this show, and the amount of times she’s been in and out of court. This outcome wasn’t really a surprise. Yes, she did all of this work to better herself but at the end of the day, just being able to take these classes does not excuse or make your slate clean from all the trouble and mistakes you have done in your past.

Leah has that classic maturity of a traumatized child who had to grow up faster than a child should, and this is because of her abusive mother. I'll never forget how Amber used to be abusive in front of her when she was only a baby and a toddler, and she was so clearly intelligent then too. I feel for her. Glad Gary got custody, and that she has Kristina in her life.
