I personally don’t think it’s a big deal that they didn’t know BTS’s earlier discography because at the end of the day they respect and appreciate BTS and their music so what’s the problem. Anyone who can sit down and listen to BTS’s songs and say WOW, I like them are fans. You do not have to be a hardcore Stan to be considered ARMY. BTS would be thrilled if anyone, even babies, listened to their music and had a good experience. Also, their is a difference between fans and stans and ARMY is made up of both.

@@konathalayamuna I agree! I'm a 2016 army and even now there are clips that I've never seen before, but I don't think it's a bad thing. It makes my day-to-day army activities more interesting and I always feel like I'm learning more about them. It took me ages to even catch up to their music. As BTS continues to grow, there are more and more baby armys who are still learning but still love them as much so the older armys should be more understanding.

Those must be Solo stans. Not ARMYs because ARMYs have always welcomed new fans to the fandom and NEVER forced them to know everything. Imagine if the new fans only found BTS in 2018, that means they have 5-6 years of contents (and with BTS, that would mean tons of content) to go through and people have life besides being a music fan. The girl on the left is clearly an army, you can tell just from the difference in reactions compared to the girl on the right, plus she was vibing the entire time and just talking bts up. Army come from all paths of life, just because she wasn’t previously aware of their debut song does not make her any less of an army. She knows it now, and I’m sure she’s still finding new things about bts, their discography is so big and vast that, unless you’ve been an army for years, there’s no way you’re going to know the boys or the fandom’s every moment. Please be KIND I was surprised the first girl didn’t see their debut stage but realized ahh she was about 10 at the time and she most likely became a casual fan during the newer eras like DNA. i think koreans use fandom names very lightly and the international standards of being part of a fandom is vastly different than theirs. they're casual listeners and call themselves armys cause they're fans of the boys but we tend to consider stans as members of a fandom. stans and fans are very different levels in liking/supporting an artist edit: so many are coming for me in the replies, so i just wanna clarify that my comment was just from observing k-fandom culture vs international fandom culture for years now. i'm definitely not saying that the girls can't call themselves armys

Like, all rookies are cool, it's a rule by the book, but bts inject their personalities into their moves. It's captivating me, and seeing now they wears pastel color and moves so relaxed like they know they own the performance. Not fight the stage, but enjoying the stage. But still with their personalities.

I was really surprised that both of them didn't know BTS' debut song after saying they were ARMYs.. like that's what I consider the first thing to check from any artist when I become a fan. But seeing their commentary, I can see that they know what BTS is about, which is more important than knowing all their songs. They hadn't heard No More Dream but were able to grasp what it was about really quickly. I know ARMYs irl who don't know what it is about even after knowing about the existence of the song. They're also probably busy studying for their high school exams and stuff so it's possible they didn't have time to learn about BTS. Or maybe they are casual fans. Anyways, it was a really interesting video to watch, and I liked the way they explained BTS.

I was an ARMY from 2014 to 2017... Then I became a bit too old to fangirl like that, since I always take everything to the extremes, so I toned it down. Plus they changed their music style a lot and I didn't like it that much. But I still watch a video or two from time to time. I also got my boyfriend and his friends into BTS. We even went to see their concert in Paris 2 years ago. My boyfriend likes Jin too. He likes Jin's humour because it's the same dad jokes he tells others. My favourite is Hobi though. And even as an ex fan, I'm still very proud of how far they've come. I liked a lot of groups before them, but they achieved the most.

Once upon a time when korea was shocked that bts win album of the year in 2016 while exo is the main streaming. They knew bts is popular outside korea but they never knew how huge the fandom is until bts win album of year..

BTS are famous all over the world for a few reasons...yes, they have incredible talent. Their dancing is AMAZING, they are great singers but my favorite thing about them is how kind they are to each other and to everyone else. They are the 7 cutest boys on the planet and I absolutely adore them. I am a 57-year-old woman from America and I can't go a day without watching something that BTS has done. I have always loved music but no other group or person melts my heart the way BTS does. I just want to protect them like a mother. Koreans should be so proud of BTS...the entire world loves them.
