Interesting to see you maintain good values. I've come across one of the nastiest Muslim girl who was 1. Rude 2. Mean 3. Using foul language in front of her mother. Curse words Sad to see such behavior and then try to play the Muslim card. So they come in all flavors yet I was shocked. Double standard. Being free and independent means having the freedom and ability to live your life the way you want to, and make your decisions yourself, wearing a hijab is one of those decisions, I hope you realize how challenging it is for a woman to wear a hijab out of faith, because it is part of her convictions and what she believes in, when she knows she is automatically going to be targeted by Islamophobic people, racist people (if she is foreign to them), and be labled as "oppressed" or "terrorist", despite all of these hardships she still decides to wear it because no amount of discrimination can force her to give up what she truly believes in, I think hijab is actually a symbol of true independence and freedom considering how persecuted are the women who choose to wear it and the amount of prejudice people have against them, if you think women should be free and independent then why is it so hard for you to accept that some women deliberately want to cover themselves out of faith?

as much as I understand what yassir2b is saying, I don't understand why he had to post half of a quote from the Quran to prove a point. He acts like the verse is saying that some Muslims pick certain parts of the Book (Quran) and not the rest. and provides a quote. some research goes to show this is the last few lines of a longer verse that says. "Then, you are those [same ones who are] killing one another and evicting a party of your people from their homes, cooperating against them in sin and aggression. And if they come to you as captives, you ransom them, although their eviction was forbidden to you. So do you believe in part of the Scripture and disbelieve in part? Then what is the recompense for those who do that among you except disgrace in worldly life; and on the Day of Resurrection they will be sent back to the severest of punishment. And Allah is not unaware of what you do.'' it begins talking about grave sin, these girls and their journey of faith and own personal decisions are not grave sin. There are variations of people and opinions in all religions. yassir2b could be saying they are selectively choosing what to follow and what to not. But omitting part of the verse to suit his own interpretation is doing that too. I think its good for all types of people to be represented in the media.
