I usually finish prepping abutment teeth before extraction to keep dentin out of the extraction site. Is that important, or does it matter if dentin chips/powder get into the extraction site?

Hi Doc, looking for feedback here, because I come across this a lot. 10 looked too decayed for endo and submerge, but could 7 be an option to endo a submerge? I do this in practice to preserve that ridge for pontics. If the centrals are aesthetic, I’ll just cantilever off of the canine. Your thoughts on the longevity of cantilevered restorations off of canines? You’ve been practicing a lot longer than me.

i think #7 could've been saved too with endo & crown from looks of it, but we dont know her periodontal or mobility status of the #7. Also a maryland bridge might be a better option than a pure cantilever if you want to avoid prepping. i think in this situation with reduced periodontum would be better off avoiding the cantilever forces on those canines.
