Im a dental Assistant and they are sensitive because all the tubules on the crows of your teeth are wide open from the whitening cleaning the stain off. You did the right thing by getting sensodyne but you may want to keep using that tooth paste for awhile to build up sensitivity then try the white strips again.

they sell crest whitestrips for sensitive teeth specifically, those ones should work for you. ALSO, if the package tells you to keep them on for 30 min. only keep them on for 20.

Louis hope you feel better! Those 2 hours whitening strips do hurt, but the pain goes away eventually. I guess I'm a sleepy bear because I just doze right off, even when the pain is excruciating. The 30 minute ones don't hurt, unless you use it every day. I usually use the 2 hours ones once a month.

you should try having an Ibuprofen 1 hour before you start the whitening treatment, this way you'll get rid off most of the pain from sensitivity!

Louis, darling you should use pure baking soda to whiten your teeth. It might taste horrid, but its better than painful teeth.

Only use them for 30 minutes. Crest 3D white toothpaste is the best. Also Crest whitening mouthwash is great. You really don't need those strips at all if you use the other 2 products. I used to smoke and my teeth are super white and not sensitive at all.

if you cover your teeth in sensodyne tooth paste before bed it might help with sensitivity :) my friends sister whitens teeth and she recommends that!

You can whiten your teeth, but the 2 hour time period should of immediately caught your attention. They have 15 or 30 minutes ones, too, which you can use a few times a week until they're gone. They don't cause too much sensitivity. Maybe try those out next time?

I've sensitive teeth and been using whitening stuff. But I always use arm and hammer extra white sensitive. Really makes a difference

Your teeth look great, be careful with these kind of product ! If it's something that is really bothering you then maybe try sprinkling a bit of baking soda on your toothbrush/tooth paste once or twice a week it should do the job (: ! A big hug from France !

You can whiten your teeth just by using toothpaste mixed with baking soda and peroxide. but only do this once or twice a week cause your teeth do get sensitive

I know how you feel! I had mine professionally whitened and it felt like nettles were going into my teeth. Use Tylenol pm before bed! works like a charm

Did you get the 2 hour express whitening strips? If so, those will hurt more because they strip the enamel faster. I would recommend the 30 minutes ones, I use those and I have sensitive teeth also. You use it everyday for 10 days or so. Good luck with your sensitivity!

I've bleached my teeth for years and I've found using the ones that are two hour strips are to make your teeth whiter more rapidly so it's way stronger whenever I felt sensitivity I slept with the sensodyne on my teeth and It felt soo much better! my dentist recommended it :) hope this helps someone!

I'm sorry to hear about your teeth whitening problem! :/ You should try Pronamel toothpaste, (by sensodyne) It actually re-builds the enamel in your teeth, which gets eaten away by acidic foods, and probably teeth whitening products. Give it a try! :)

Not for everyone, I had braces and it only hurt a tiny bit the first time they were put on. Other than that even after tightening mine were fine. Maybe I'm just lucky?

It wasn't really a fail. Your teeth are noticeably whiter. You should have done the ten sessions of 30 minute strips, not the 2 hour kit. It would have taken longer, but it wouldn't have been painful.

Welcome to my world. I've never whitened my teeth as I have super sensitive teeth. I can't have anything to cold, to hot or to sweet cos it hurts so much that I can't even talk. It's so bad that I sometimes can't even breath through my mouth as the air passing over my teeth is to cold and makes them hurt. I've never even done whitening strips. I want to though!
