When tekken 8 was announced and lars was revealed I bought t7 and played him because just because I knew he would be in t8 but when leroy was announced I switched immediately because he was the person I really wanted to play but didn't because I didn't know if he would be in t8 to find out that the character that I'm currently playing to learn tekken with and what made me love the series is now shit hurts

I truly hope they buff him before release because so many of these nerfs make 0 sense he was the closest thing to a classic Tekken character for me since T6 and one of my new mains until Eddy comes back

I think the rapid punch did use heat, but now they use significantly more. I think that might have been a more universal change. When I was using xaoi yus heat enhanced hypnotist moves, I could maybe use 3-4 before the heat was completely expended. In the CNT, I could easily use upwards of 7-8. I won many games getting into heat asap and taking the lead with those moves, which I thought was the point of heat. It surprised me that so many pro players were immediately using heat dash for extended combos rather than using their busted moves and mixups.

I really hope they buff Leroy in the final product. This version of him is worthless.

They don't want Leroy to shine anymore. So many people biched about him being OP now he isn't even worth using.

This whole nerfs doesn't make any sense. He can't defend sense they nerfed his parries to the ground. He can't do damage, he barely has new moves, and everything is a risk with little reward. I don't get this. Most of this new moves are highs and have terrible frame data. What were they thinking, they took his main thing about him parries and nerfed it.

I spent the entire CBT playing Leroy and I was thoroughly disappointed in how much he was changed for the worse. I found him underwhelming. His neutral tools were gutted with his df1 (and extension), db3, f 1+2, b1, df 2, 1+2 (no more pushback) and his parry windows reduced. None of his other move really got better frame data to compensate. If he is a "poking' character, he definitely take way more risks than other poke characters like Feng. I didn't main him in T7, but I was hoping to transition into him in T8. Unless something drastically changes, I doubt seriously I'll consider him at all.

Ah! I knew I was forgetting one: ff1+2 now being f1+2. Also, I guess I didn't realize the parry windows were reduced? Same with 1+2 pushback. Wasn't paying attention to that one lol.

His parries are destroyed as well 😔. The literal way he plays is nerfed to the ground. You can barely parry anything.
