Jinzo was my first secret rare. I lived in Sacramento and the area was dangerous where the card shop was. After I opened the pack of pharaoh servant I pulled it and I gasped...WONG MOVE! Every thug in that card shop looked at me and I booked it! As I ran I see a mob of these guys chasing me! I jumped on the bus as it pulled up and told the driver DRIVE! DRIVE! DRIVE! And the bus driver looked at the gang running up and locked the doors and we drove off into the sunset. He was my favorite card. Thanks Tek!

Fun fact Tekking, remember Zane Trusdale and his Cyber dragons? In GX apparently his deck is called the Cyber style of dueling and you no joke, climb to the top of a temple monastery to train to use that deck. In a later episode, we learn of another duel style called the Psycho style and the successer of that style actual duels Zane for the title of strongest duel style

It doesn't eliminate trap cards, but Timegazer Magician was like the Pendulum version of Jinzo for (YGO) Arc-V. The basic shtick is that your opponent can't activate trap cards while you Pendulum monsters go into battle. It wasn't perfect since it can't protect your monster from being Solomn'd or trap holed, but I'm a fan of Pendulum monsters and what they represent so Timegazer is one of my faves'.

In the current meta people rarely run trap cards if not archetype specific, so trap negation is essentially completely useless. Generic trap cards are like not a thing anymore

I'm loving these videos Tekking keep'em coming. I played for a few years when it first came out. I know the game has changed a ton, but I had fun with how broken all the cards were back then. I'd say about 80%-90% of my original deck is banned now. cyber jar, fiber jar, yata garasu, snatch and steal, pot of greed, etc. even the cards that aren't just banned in my old deck are limited like solemn judgement.

When it comes to Fiber Jar yeah I had one two, I put it in with my DD removal deck, oh god they hated that cause read the effect, returns everything...but removed cards and when I spent most of the duel with cards that removed their...yeah surprised I didn't get beat up over that combo...

Morphing Jar was the original hardest to get/most expensive cards. Its first print was only available in the tournament packs. single card packs that you could only get for participating at your local store. I remember being lucky enough to pull one and immediately was offered $300. It was probably a low ball but hey free money.

Those cards weren't out at the time Morphing Jar was first released. and were rereleased a year later in Gold Series. Morphing Jar was only available in tournament packs for a limited run and only became more available 3 years later in Dark Beginnings 2.

I used to play with Fiber Jar as my win con way back in the day. I had cards like Fiber Jar, Card Destruction, Soul Release. The point was to fill up the graveyard for my opponent, banish said cards and then reset the game but my opponent now has fewer cards to play with. Repeat, win.

There were quite strong effect monsters before. However they all had very low stats. Like penguin soldier, morphing jar, hana hana, blast sphere and other such cards. They had strong effects but that's all they had. Jinzo not only had a very devastating ability but it also had very impressive stats for it's level.

Royal Decree and Jinzo are just cards I REALLY love for their potential to fuck with someone who uses a lot of trap (and, in the case of Royal Decree, for the fact you'll end up basing your deck almost entirely on spells just because you have that card).

So you see, in Yu-Gi-Oh Zexal there was a concept called "Shining Draw". Basically heart of the cards, but they tell you that it's the heart of the cards. It gave you whatever card you needed. There was a guy called "Don Thousand" or something, and he could Shining Draw whenever he wanted. You see where this is going. I also forgot, so I can't describe it to you.

Jinzo was indeed one of the statues in Zexal, but he literally hasn't appeared since GX other than that. Surprisingly Mirror Force became a major plot point in VRAINS though because it's super OP against Link monsters since they can't be in defense mode and Revolver abuses the hell out of it.

Tekking the only deck I can think of off the top of my head that doesn’t rely on traps is the Superheavy Samurai deck due to the archetype’s abilities and whatnot

There is one other downside of Amplifier. It makes traps usabe for Jinzo's controller, not owner. Which means that you opponent could steal your Jinzo with a spell or monster effect and make it so that your Amplifier is now benefitting them instead of you.

you can summon Jinzo using the Trap Card Call of the Haunted. Also, if you Call of the Haunted gets destroyed somehow, Jinzo doesn't die from its destruction. Jinzo screws the rules of the game harder than abridged Kaiba.

Sure Jinzo's a cool card & all BUT it can be easily replaced with a Royal Decree which does the same thing but without having to sacrifice a monster to do so, this is pretty redundant if you think about it & you can get rid of Jinzo with a Offerings to the doomed card when he's summoned so again Royal decree is better.

there isnt really a better card betwen both. You can destroy Decree pretty Easily to, and decree need a turn to set up. You pretty much want to run red reboot or Denko over Jinzo and Decree most of the time

You can protect Royal decree with a card effect to keep up a lock down strategy e.g. Silent swordsman LV7 or anything else that can work in that kind of scenario.

Certain traps still work against jinzo mainly the counter traps that negate a summon such as solemn warning, Solemn judgement and some others that I can't think of. Oh skill drain also works on jinzo if it was already activated on the field since it negates Jinzo effect when it hits the field
