The comment that the humble locals earn money by running the Darjeeling Himalayan Railways, unfortunately is incorrect. The Feds run India's Railroads. This railroad system was engineered by our erstwhile colonial masters and include the famous Batasia loop. However the ingenious efforts of the Columbians is something wonderful indeed !
