I had the same problem with the collar o-rings. I reached out to tekno to....complain....and they said people cut the o-ring in half and use only half in the collar....

I cut about a quarter out of mine.

I love this car, I went with tekin rx8 gen 3, 1900kv, protek servo and redline 4s batteries. I also put a dji air 3, the camera fits great in the front shock mount, fpv driving is fun! I also added temp, rpm and volt sensor with a steering gyro. coz why not

What size pinion gear you running ?
@joxxla Жыл бұрын
@1Almightydeez I did some tests between 16 and 18. I like 16, more punch. but it really depends on how much room you got to open it up, track, and what you like. I've yet to test 15 on a very short track but I doubt I will since 16 hits a good sweet spot for me. experiment and let me know what you like

Love this car! Had a MP9e evo and kinda hated it😅 Just over 10 races on the Tekno kit and flawless did bend one turnbuckle a bit and a little crack in the wing but I wreck a lot.😊

Would rather have two shorty packs instead of that big ole brick pack lol. Is it considered a basher car?
@AMain_Hobbies_2 Жыл бұрын
No, not meant for bashing. It would be a very expensive basher. -Brett

dude, put links to the products used. sooo many youtubers provide any link imaginable to parts used in their videos but yet the largest hobby shop and RC parts retailer in the country doesnt even give product links in their videos.

I’ve assembled several race buggies and I found several problems with this build overall. I never had to disfigure servos so it can fit in. The o-ring for the suspension collar issue I thought was quite annoying. For the price of this kit, issues like these should have been dealt with before product launch. Unsatisfactory experience with this Tekno 1/8 buggy.

I've been building these things since the 90's. They all have their issues, and these you mentioned are quite minimal compared to what I've encountered...

170Tbl detachable wire DOES NOT help! This video is a blatant attempt to show you how to force the 170tbl/sbl design into a kit. It makes it a pain to install in many brands kits. Brett saying it really helps is not helping. I’m gonna void the warranty by trimming the plastic shroud off the servo case??? That said, other than fitment issues the 170’s are excellent robust servos.
@AMain_Hobbies_2 Жыл бұрын
These build videos are about the overall experience of building the car, not just the servos. We are aware of the fitment issues, that's why we're bring it up and talk about it. No one is forcing anything, only trying to inform and educate. For the plastic around the servo wire port: that plastic sticks out the same height as the connector when fully seated, acting as a protective shroud for the connector. If you trim the port flush, the connector would still stick out slightly, making the modification pointless. If in some rare case it was needed, our guys tell me it would not void your warranty. Trimming the electronics to fit the car is a last resort - I recommend trimming the car to fit the electronics first. In this case, trimming the cars plastic servo mounts is all that's really needed. -Brett

Two minutes with a Dremel grinding the plastic is all it takes to fit a protek servo in an eb48
@SuperSilence23 Жыл бұрын
I installed the 170sbl, not sure if it’s different but all I did was cut the boot on the wire and it fit right in, no need to shave the servo.
@SuperSilence23 Жыл бұрын
What size were the screws he used for the servo?
@1V4NH0 Жыл бұрын
Tekno must appreciate how hard you tried to downplay the problems with the shock collars and mounting the servo. I am pretty annoyed that I'm now gonna have to mutilate this beautiful clean build I've put so much money and time into to install the servo. 👎
