I know you guys cover newer topics, but I’d really like to see something like a shock tuning comparison for bashers. Showing how to find the sweet spot for springs and oil weight. Too heavy on both and your truck will bounce even more on landings and over stress your shocks. Too light and you get unnecessarily heavy chassis slap. Think the xmaxx would be a good platform to test. If you can Jerry rig a variable dampening system for it (like the e revo 2.0 option part) it would be incredible.
@No1karez4 ай бұрын
Honestly I think the best way to learn all that stuff is to learn about racing buggies and how to set them up for different tracks, that’s how I learned and it’s really cool and enjoyable. There are heaps of channels you can watch to learn from but you will learn the most from people who race buggies and truggies because they really got it down to a science.
@cbh1484 ай бұрын
None of that stuff matters for bashing. It'll do the same number of backflips regardless. Just sticking with stock or some middle-of-the-road shock oil / shock piston / spring will behave the same. To tune a shock for the basher size jumps is pointless because it's gonna bottom out either way, plus the jump variety is so big. Whereas with a track, the layout doesn't change jump sizes throughout the day, so it makes sense to tune for them along with the surface since lower lap times are typically desirable.
@V8chump4 ай бұрын
@@cbh148 maybe I’m splitting hairs but ANY shock absorbed by your thicker shock oil is lessening the amount being sent into your chassis or electronics no matter the jump. If it didn’t matter at all we would run water thin shock oil. Of course you can do the same amount of backflips… that’s not effected whatsoever. But your rig does take much less abuse if you have proper shock fluid. Imagine jumping with no shock oil… then imagine bashing with 100w oil… massive difference even if your chassis does slap regardless. One way you’re gonna shatter plastic, the other way you just get chassis slap

Maifield uses the 1Army engine mount which will let the Protek clutch line up correctly. Otherwise the kit clutch lines up fine with the kit mount.

So using the 1Army engine mount with the Protek clutch should line up correctly to the spur gear without having to use all those addtional shims and spacers?
@isaiahfurrow74143 ай бұрын
The Tekno kit clutch is fine, and lines up as it should... Another bit to solve that, you could use the 1Army motor mount and the rails have a set of holes to move things so they line up without all the shims and spacers... I'm looking forward to adding some more 2.2 parts to an Ebuggy soon, and hopefully helping my son build the new 2.2 nitro buggy this winter... The Tekno cars are great, but the 2.2 updates should make it just that much more dialed...our next part will be some 2.2 universals.

So I bought everything from your links, but my 170SBL servo absolutely does not fit. The wire harness runs directly through the TKR9328B mounting plate - and it's not even dremel able. Did Protek change these servos because there's just no way to make this fit. Yours also says "high voltage" and the font on 170 SBL is different.

For those interested - the issue I'm describing is at 9:45 in the video

Did you figure this out? I don't remember having any issues or having to cut or dremel anything to install either servo. My servos are old, the current servos may have a different face on them now; they get updated from time to time. The servos are still HV. -Brett
@griffinmpc8144Ай бұрын
@@AMain_Hobbies I'm just installing the fuel tubing now. With regards to the servo - the fix was to use the "thin" side on the servo - which I don't think is the intended method as the "thick" side with the boot seems like it's intended to be exposed. Oddly - I then ran into an issue I was surprised you didn't mention - with the throttle servo. You raised the servo to provide mudguard clearance - however - when using the optional Tekno metal sevo horns - that caused interference with the brake linkage. I ended up removing the servo risers - and somehow it fits (though I'm not able to get a real good look at the mudguard / servo area to check for interference). The linkage was a problem with the new, raised servos.

This is a fully adjustable race car of the highest caliber you have so much adjustment in there. There has to be an element of customization is what I will call it. The reason why the servo come with spacers is because you need to make small adjustments some people might not want to use the mud guards. You never know anyway there's lots of adjustment in this car and these problems are, not really problems they're there because you can customize the car drastically you can alter it Cam. It's towing. It's tow out and such so anyway this person probably doesn't know much about racing RC cars don't take it personal guys.

This industry is odd. You call this the hottest Buggy available but then go on to list multiple problems with the car and the build and claim they're no big deal. If a brand new product doesn't go together properly that's a big deal. Every manufacturer in the industry does this and the buyers don't seem to care. It's as if half asses is good enough. Why aren't customers demanding better of these companies and why aren't you as a retailer pressuring manufacturers? If the products I make didn't function on day one I'd be out of a job.

@@franklee6301 The only thing Tekno themselves fucked up is one number and one letter in the manual, maybe not including some of their own servo spacers, though most servos come with those anyways. If a pro winning with this Tekno doesn't give it some credibility because a pro can win with any car, then where could one brand gain credibility? And Maifield even won with it before they found/developed improvements such as altering the axle height, so it was already great. So since Mugen changed their rear arm pivot width, does that mean they don't have their rear arm pivot width figured out? Pretty easy to poke a lot of holes in that line of thinking, chief.
