Chris “Tekno” Manos was a friend and brother to many of us. In December 2018 we lost a brilliant man. A few days earlier, he called me to check up on me, that’s the type of guy he was. That week we hung out at Bay Vista watching a film we made together. The day before we had fun with the BV engineer as we had been a bit cheeky and a tad relaxed about the screening.
I only knew Tekno properly since my return from London in 2012. He became a close mate. Because of him I actually shot a small film on Delos.
Chris was known as a party champion, the fun guy but he was always able to listen and help his mates. He modelled, danced, acted in some of my film projects and he was also the one at the door at Bay Vista ready to make your day great. Bay Vista is an institution and Tekno was made for Bay Vista, vice versa. It really became a place to be on this planet thanks to Tekno.
He was also a very talented artist and his bedroom contains many of his drawings and sketches.
His popularity was global as everyone who came to Mykonos was invariably touched by Tekno. He is missed and this is my small tribute from my last trip there. I shed a tear for Tekno, aside from my uncle Mixalis, it was the probably the only time I have in my adult life
His brother Jim and father Mr Manos are missed as well. They lived for each other and were a great parea.
The years I knew Tekno were fabulous and I am blessed to have known him. He is one person that I treasure and feel sad every time I think of him and then I laugh at some of the malakies we did or more to the point, he did!
We both had an interest in politics, obviously me more than most. I had written an overview of democracy and my disdain for Trump months earlier for Neos Kosmos that few people read. Days after he passed away, the article was strangely the most read article for NK that week and possibly month…. Thanks Tekno

Ps I had to sit outside to type this as I know I would struggle writing what he meant to keep and us. I am as devastated as others that he is no longer and no longer here to check up on me. I miss you buddy and I am sorry we didn’t do more with you in this lifetime, next life we will party again! Aspro kato
