Finally mini PCs started coming with SD card slot. Bad: they do not sell barebone and without OS. Otherwise it's a pretty decent machine.

Most people prefer to have the audio jack in front of the mini pc to plug and unplug their headphones/microphones, especially at work. I haven't tried it, but I believe that there are HDMI to HDMI and AUX adapters.

Compared to my GTX 860M laptop, this iGPU is 3 times as powerful, at least in Geekbench 8 openCL score. The CPU is even faster than that compared to my i7-4710HQ.

Depending on what it's for, I prefer front ports. This feels like what I might use for a living room PC (never really been a console gamer - no, this isn't a PC vs consoles thing, this is a "lack of exposure" thing), so front ports would be better for keyboard and mouse or some kind of controller and a headset.

Headphone jack on the front doesn't bother me too much, I tend to use wireless headphones anyway and USB dongles seem to be standard for low latentcy audio. Also I haven't owned an HDMI capable monitor in many years that didn't have a headphone or speaker jack built in

In your Cyberpunk benchmark, you were in windowed mode. Wouldn't you have gotten better performance if it was set to fullscreen?

Gonna be akshually guy for a second and point out that AMD does have their C cores which aren't really efficiency cores but that's the best comparison right now between AMD and intel. They are also supposed to be dropping 'hybrid' cpu's soon and if they keep up with what their Siena CPU's are laying down call me interested. Great review as always and I agree it's not long before 'low end' gaming doesn't need more than a decent to good mini PC and integrated graphics, hopefully that will be a good thing.

the problem with mini pcs they are loud like a crazy Chihuahua because it overheats. if it was bigger 8 by 8 and they placed a bigger fan they would be better. I got a GMKtec and is louder than my 6-year-old HP slim desktop. Also seems some, not all, come with Spyware and clone windows os.

The problem with everything else is watt usage The fan wont hit high speed on gaming since the gpu inside doesnt use more than 20% of the apu So as long as you dont use high cpu app , the fans wont kick in

GEEKOM launched the A7 mini-PC, the most impressive mini-PC available... without warranty support. Oh, it's mentioned on their web pages but it isn't real. At least not in Australia or via the US or China. Warranty = Fail. With a new market segment in mini-PCs & the gaming market open to a new hardware segment, AMD & Intel are hedging more than a bit on all this to jump start their cloud gaming future and expand their chip presence in the IoT. I wonder if AMD & Intel know what GEEKOM are doing to their brands. Maybe our KZbin reviewers should include warranty when reviewing "exciting" new hardware?

For a comparison my 13 year old 8120 bulldozer 32gb box with it's current 970 gpu in it, clocks in at 2704 on the Valley benchmark. That;s OK for my needs work wise but a bit better box I could put in my pocket and draws a fraction of the power does seem tempting. Whats the longevity of these things if on 24/7?

well, there's no RTX going on there. I actually played it on my 3080 ti without RTX because I wanted higher FPS... but the RTX is shiny. Could also be something with shadows.

Sorry but that gpu is not really matching an 1650, ie slower than a gtx 970. Only thing that is faster might be the gpu so if u play at 720p low or in some games 1080p low then it might be faster than say an gtx 970/rx 470/480 with an quad core i7. :P I wish amd just did try to give us more than 12cu on an apu, 24cu would have been great, and do we really need 8c? if we are restricted to an igpu, I mean gaming wise 6c with 24cu would have been perfect. But yeah doubt amd wants to cannibalise their entry level discrete gpus with an apu.

Far Cry's benchmarks are not very reliable at all. They will give you an average FPS, but when you actually play the game you will well below that more often than not.

Yo Logan! I wanna roll up on a scooter to a outlet in a dark alley or 3rd shift lunch break and have a small reasonable priced projector and a mini tiny pc in a small bag. Have a fighting game breakout bag to get casual fighting games back on scene. Has to be cheap and run old fighter and tekken 8 with scaling of course.
