I've got a bunch of Tekton tools including the 1/4" and 3/8" drive set. The only issue I had is with with one of their metric wrench sets. There were two 11mm wrenches and no 10mm. I went on line filled out small questionnaire with a pic of the two 11mm side by side. Three days later I had a new 10mm wrench and did not have to send the extra 11mm back. This is how their warranty works for all their tools and its life time regardless if you bought if direct from them, a third party or inherited them. If you sign up for their free member account shipping is free (no minimum purchase and generally 2 day shipping) plus 10% of your purchase price is put in a "piggy bank account" that you can use towards future purchases. Darn hard to beat that.

Ive used the blue point set professionally for a few years now. Only ever broke the deep 8 mm, easily replaced. I purchased the tekton set for at home, not convinced i need blue point stuff for the stuff i do on weekends. Glad to see so many people have a good opinion of tekton. Tekton makes great stuff for the money. Buy from them directly though. Make a login and you get 10% store credit back on every purchase. So buy this quarter drive set. You get $5.50 store credit and you can build that up the more you purchase. They keep your store credit for 2 years. So as you but more you can build up your credit and basically use it like a x amount % off coupon off more expensive 3/4 drive or ½ inch drive sets.

For the price it cant be beat (Tekton). I had the much more expensive Mac tools 1/4 service set stolen out of truck and replaced with tekton. Could not be happier. Like you said, especially to have a whole kit in one box to grab and go. When I turned wrenches, the struggle was always having your tools at work locked up then flung a belt off or something after dinner one evening and then wasting $25-$30 at the parts store for some BS stuff that would barely get the job done. I hadnt heard of tekton (or know if they even existed back then in 1990's early 2000's), but id have happily bought several sets like this to leave at the house. I certainly couldnt afford to have duplicates at work and home with snap on at the time

Tekton’s awesome to deal with. And they are continuously improving. For example, their vice grips used to be so-so Chinese made, now are Taiwan made nearly on par with the Milwaukee’s (plus that cool feature where you can use a screwdriver shaft to tighten). Their bit sockets used to be held with a pin now are press fit, and the long hexes are the same thickness the length of the bit.

I've read comments from other mechanics who use their Tekton tools daily without any issues. I have had that 55-piece, 1/4" drive set for three years, but it has the older 72-tooth ratchet. My set has gotten considerable use, though most likely not as much as your set will get, Mr. Clay. I haven't had any issues with it either. I enquired from Tekton about swapping out the new 90-tooth mechanism in the 72-tooth ratchet and I was told it would not work; so much for that great idea. One advantage I like about ordering Tekton tools from their website is the 10% rewards they give for purchases. I have a whopping $4.00 accumulated now from some two types of pliers I ordered. Now, I need to see reviews about the new Tekton tool cabinets. I like the really specs on them, but they're still imported...from Canada (Ha Ha). Tekton is even jumping on the "compared to Snap-on" bandwagon with their tool cabinets now.

Tekton has an excellent replacement policy, you fill out a form on the website, take a picture of the tool, & they ship you a new one. A lot easier than waiting on the tool truck, and the tool truck might not have what you want when they show up. I’ve waited weeks for a replacement from the truck. I bought 4 tekton sets for our shop about 2-3 years ago & have only had to replace one breaker bar in all that time. Good socket sets, can’t speak for their other tools, as I haven’t used them.

I have that Tekton set and love it. Top notch quality. I paid $60 for my older set (bought in April 2021) which did not include the 15 mm sockets they do now (I bought those separately) with free shipping and no sales tax. People should know that if you register for an acct at Tekton, you get free shipping no matter how small the order, and they credit you back 10% to use on future purchases. So my set ended up costing me the $54 net, plus the two exta sockets was $11 for both, making a total of $65. The same set today (5-15-23) includes the 15mm deep and standard sockets and costs $90. Still very worth it. Made in Taiwan, which today often rivals US quality. Had about a 50% price increase, thanks to president Brandon's inflationary managment of the economy. Let's Go Brandon! But Blue Point is part of Snap-on, and if you don't buy a Snap-on product, you don't get to take part in the Snap-on legacy and heritage..... Actually, unless you have a different set from what is on their website currently, it does look like they skip sizes, at least between the standard depth and deep. In the shallow, they omit the 13mm, they have it in deep, but omit the 4 mm deep. SAE, they omit the 1/2" in deep, probably one of the ones I use the most. When you factor in what Tek includes vs. what would have to be added to the Duralast set, the $15 more for the Tek set still makes it the winner, IMHO.

I have that Tekton set in my collection and use it every day as a small engine mechanic. Tekton is my go to for affordable quality tools.

I already had some other socket sets but I've bought about a dozen individual Tekton impact and chrome sockets to complete some other sets I have and have been very pleased with them. Can buy all their items individually as well as their sets on their website. Also have their long flex ratcheting wrench sets, very happy with those too.

I am an industrial mechanic and I have been using Tekton's 3/8 drive set and I can tell you they hold up from over a year of use with impacts to just hand tools. The non skip is nice when working out of a tool bag like I do. They even a better deal then Blue point when you find out Bluepoints are made in Taiwan just like Tekton lol.

If you're buying Tekton, buy it from tekton.com because, they offer free shipping and you earn 10% back in rewards points with every purchase. Tekton also has a smooth warranty process where you fill out a form and send them a picture of your broken tool and they send you a new tool pretty quickly. Additionally Tekton socket sets were revised about a year ago. Better made sockets, better makings, and 90 tooth ratchets. Good stuff that won't break the bank. Thanks for sharing, hope your hand heals fast.

Thanks for this review. I am looking at Tekton now for sockets. I am going to buy a bunch of stuff from Matco and a Snap On tool box, but I can't really justify spending so much on the tool truck sockets. Again, love the channel. Any questions I have had researching tools I have been searching your channel only and you have done a video on the exact thing I am looking at, THANKS!

I guess you could call me a tekton fanboy but i am just a shade tree mechanic i can do it all but i dont make my living off my tools so i find it hard to spend more than i have to on tools when i found tekton I was skeptical but after 2 years of beating them up and having no problems i have went and basicly filled my tool box with only tekton tools i would like some snap on and matco stuff but i would have to feel like i was getting the deal of a lifetime

I think I would still go for the Blue Point set as i have the 3/8 set in my vehicle & I really like it. I understand where your coming from as regards the price comparison but the Blue Point set could be bought on a promo which would make it better value, as for the ratchet I would just swap it out for a snap on from my main tool box. Great video Clay, all the best from the UK.

Only thing to add for other users: Tekton's warranty allows you to just send a picture of the broken tool to them, and then they ship the replacement to you. No need to mail back your tool. And, they normally get it to you within 2 days (in my case).

I have been using tekton sockets and ratchets for almost 6 months not a single problem hiccup or anything. It is a great starter set if you are getting started in the automotive field because they skip no sizes. Eventually you can just take these home and use them for project cars.

This was amazing! I would’ve thought that tools like that would be beneath a super pro like yourself Mr. Kuhn trucker. I bought that exact same set two years ago after seeing real tool reviews feature it on his channel. Since that time I have bought several tech ton tool sets and what I like most about them is that they don’t skip sizes. My tools don’t earn me a living so I have to be careful with the money I spend on them. With this particular brand it is money well spent. I also on four sets of their impact sockets to stick on the ends of my Ingersoll rand cordless tools. Now that is where I decided to invest a little more.
