Jacob Rees-Mogg's 'Kardashian-style' documentary set to air | The Daily T Podcast

In recent years, politicians appearing in reality TV shows has become something of a trend - think Matt Hancock and Nigel Farage on I'm a Celebrity, Ed Balls on Strictly, or Penny Mordaunt on Splash!
The latest to join their ranks is former cabinet minister Jacob Rees Mogg, who earlier this year let cameras into his 17th century stately home in Somerset, where he lives with his wife and six children.
Jacob joins Camilla and Kamal over breakfast in the Daily Tea studio, to discuss how his children felt about appearing on the series, whether reality TV can really help a politician get out a message, and which TV shows he's inclined to binge (the answers may surprise you).

I like them, and although they may seem strange and outdated to some, they at least have impeccable manners and courtesy, something lacking in todays society, and for that alone I applaud them.

I'm from Australia, and the real difference in our accents became obvious when he said "At Home With the Furys". We don't have that programme here, and it sounded like "Fiori" to me - it took quite some searching and good luck (and the closed captions on the video) to find what on Earth he was talking about.

Regardless of JRM’s politics he really has the look and bearing of a prime minister. If he were I don’t thick, for one moment, he would break the bond with our pensioners that they would allow the government use their pension money without interest in exchange for cash at the end of our working lives for however long needed. He is no lily livered PM like our prescient guy who appears highly suspect. I like him.

Camilla”s questioning on Boris was very good and Moggy’s attempt to whitewash the disastrous Boris makes him utterly unelectable to me despite the fact that I agree with many of his other views. Boris completely turned his back on the voter base who had given him such a large majority and Mogg gave him unwavering support. No more Tory voting for me. Ever.

What people don't know is negotiations For the money the fee for Reese Mark and his family Were in negotiations and work to be finalised however the election was called and the production company says we've got a go now with what we have Otherwise we will have nothing let's start today, jacob had planed this for November when the election was due to be called, He knew full well that his seat was at severe risk I wanted to get the filming In before then To help him retain his seat Thus he and his very wealthy family had to take a substantial pay cut because Richie called the election too early, the question for me is why was his seat at risk considering he had all the tv exposure on gb news, remember this is the man who turned down the chance to be prime minister

What I've noticed, is that a HUGE number of seats had their boundaries redrawn for the 2024 election. That is true of Jacob Rees-Mogg's seat. North-East Somerset WAS a constituency from 2010-2024. It is now North-East Somerset and Hanham. Because of this, 2019 vs. 2024 are not apples to apples. But, as JRM mentioned here, most of their voters went to Reform, and some stayed home. If all the Reform voters had voted for him, he would've won by 2,000 votes. He lost by 5,000.
