I can see us, the listener, being torn by heroic duty and not wanting to hurt the ONLY person who was sympathetic to us and either losing it on everyone (making it so the villain has to be the one to save us and the world) or leaving it all behind after faking our death (which makes everyone sad), or just disappearing, going into hiding (which makes everyone look for us. The villain to make sure we're okay, and the heroes to jail us for abandoning our duty). THE POTENTIAL!!!!
