To those who think it is about prayer, it is. but the satire is more about the people who are in these positions and pray like this. This relates to the parable where Jesus was expressing how we should pray to God beyond the lord's prayer. The pharisees prayers where about their status and their things while the sinner's (tax collector's) prayer was about how he wanted a changed heart. And he did not go about it boastfully or with pomp and circumstance as the Pharisee did. What you pray in the secret place will be rewarded openly. It's just a reminder that while you can pray to God in thanksgiving for what he's done for you, it's not right to make it a contest for who's more blessed. And when we pray, we should take time to love on God and not stroke our own ego's.
