those who criticize the production of the film for having hired a foreign actor to play Bob are in every way similar to those who criticized Bob for internationalizing reggae music by signing with a white producer (chris blackwell) and hiring American guitarists (wayne perkins, al anderson, donald kinsey) or english (junior marvin). If Bob had listened to them, his music would not have crossed the borders of Jamaica. These people don't understand anything about art. The rest of the world doesn't care about the origin of the actor who will play Bob. Art is the most important thing

No one can truly act as Bob. Saw the clip. Not feeling it. Bob talk a lot, always had something to say, gave a lot of interviews, They could have gotten enough real clips of Bob cut & fit. For any parts they wanted...Bob was different. Bob was and his my Hero, can't be imitated, Like Bob say in his own words "Can't be copied". They tried..But, not the same, Maybe its just me..

If you listen to the interviews with Ben and Ziggy their aim wasn’t to imitate him cause as you said it can’t be done. That’s why they chose an external actor. Even the singing parts they used Bob Marley’s original audios. Ben was there to play the character of Bob not be Bob. I was reluctant to give the movie a chance but when you hear the reverence that the entire cast and crew put into it. How they did everything to make authentic without making Ben into a caricature of Bob is way better than a lot of other biopics that I’ve seen. Every is entitled to their opinions of course this is just my thoughts
