I had an in-person interview today with a major corporation, and the hiring manager started off with the "Tell me about yourself" question. However, it took a turn before I could answer when he says, "Nevermind, I don't give a crap about who you are. Just tell me where you work now or in the past." I literally about lost my composer with laughter!

Thanks firvyhis valuable & structured approach to answering this difficult question. I've been asked this question for every new position applied for over several decades. So, a question. If this question is not answered, by the first half hour of the interview, would I be scoring points with the interviewer,, by saying something like " Let me tell you a bit about myslf" & launch right nto my prepared, structured summary & opening my own opportunity toll it potentially 'kill it' blow them away & seal the new position or at least be their new 'front runner candidate'?

I'm 60 years old, I was recently doing a phone interview, I have already 17 years of experience in this position, from bottom to top, at no time did the interviewer ask me about my experience, at the end she asked me what I do when I wake up in the morning. W T F.

I know they don’t want to hire somebody older if everyone else is a millennial because they think because you have so much experience, you will guide everybody else. And it undermines the program directors leadership. Okey-dokey Well, back to the job search.
