Wow... Tony Madien is playing a Musicmaster guitar! I've never seen anyone big time playing those guitars. They were a "student" guitar and were not as expensive as a Stratocaster or Telecaster. They were used by cats in the studio and what not, but to see one used on TV was rare.

Thank Chaka also because according to everyone in the studio SHE wrote a majority of the song. ! Ray Parker Jr ( who was working with both Stevie and Rufus/Chaka in 1973) must have told Stevie how fine Chaka was because he came to their session to "check her out " and offered a few songs to them. Chaka who was 19 at the time turned them down. He started playing the genesis of TMSG and was working out the arrangement. During one of the breaks, he and Chaka were on the console, and apparently, he tried to put the move on Chaka. Long story short, he felt her belly somehow and realized that she was like 8 months pregnant----AND LEFT! Leaving them to finish the song. Chaka, wrote a majority of the song but in either December 73 or January 74 Stevie raced to copyright it. And wouldn't allow them to release it if he didn't have to split the publishing. Everyone agreed because they didn't know any better and within a few short months the song BLEW up and the rest is history! The groups next song ( written by Chaka and Ray Parker Jr) blew up and went #1..

Can you imagine? There used to be a time when people had talent, singers could actually sing, and musicians could actually play. It’s mind blowing. Even more mind blowing was that audiences appreciated this talent and could actually differentiate between good and bad. That all ended by the early 80s.

Geez momma. It's like when your turntable was about gone. Remember doze days? Taze wired man. It's a funky, feeling, soulful song and they are so off the laid back beat...it ain't funny. But hey, that's the down side of the music biz. Seldom have I heard it so obvious.
