I adjusted ingredients, and rather than infusing fresh orange zest, I added dried orange peel granules to my oils along with fine black pepper. My loaf went through gel phase and came out this wonderful rich color of orange. It's beautiful and smells heavenly. Thank you for the idea for this scent combination. My step-son said, "It smells like an Old-Fashioned cocktail."

Hey love your soaps 😻 quick question ❓ Do you use refined or unrefined oils and butter and how do you neutralize the smell of lye. Recently we made coconut soap but the smell is a bit overwhelming, does the quality of lye matter?
@tellervo. Жыл бұрын
Thank you🤗 I usually use refined oils. Any smells should dissipate during the cure time, I wouldn't say it has to do with the quality of the lye, some ingredients just give off a smell at first when they react with lye☺️
