Mum's reaction was priceless 🤣.......I told my folks straight out the gate, even before I had any results. They didn't quite understand it at first but were supportive of my choices and when the results started coming in they REALLY understood why id been glued to my screen for all those hours. As far as personal friends, my day ones weren't interested at all, but I continued the journey regardless. They saw my struggles and lows for a couple years and the amount of time I had invested. When results started coming in, that's when they wanted in 🤨 with no sweat equity. I felt some type of way after that.

Your lucky. I told my friends I was a day trader and they asked how much I made. I told them $500 each day, which in the trading world is low. To them they thought I was “better than them” and it became a huge insecurity situation when they started comparing themselves.

The perception among friends either results jealousy or the idea that trading the stock market implies being money hungry. Sadly these are the same type of people who spend on things they can’t afford.

this is amazing! my parents knew about my trading from the beginning, thankfully they were super supportive. My close friends as well have been very supportive. However, I recently had mentioned it to a family friend when I was asked "so what are you doing now" and was faced with a lot of questioning/confusion which makes me want to only keep it to my close circle for now.

It’s harder to share with family because you care about their opinions the most. People on KZbin they can say stuff and you can take it or leave it because you don’t know them personally. Weird thing is, a lot of times strangers can be more supportive than family and friends as long as they aren’t trolls. Family can be pessimistic but it’s only because they care so much about you and are scared for you. I’m glad you have less to worry about and can focus on your trades and goals.
