PureTaylor Hey Taylor I think..I know! your freakin Awesome, omg. I have been searching for both my parents (bt unfortunately my grandpa passed and my moms side is still yet to be found) BUT! I did find my brothers father after 20+yrs and I cried like it was me and my dad lol. me and my mom cried and he called us cry babies, actually lol. I Know this is the greatest gift you could ever give your mom. I am a mother and I know that - giving your sister up was giving up a part of her.literally so for you to giver her that missing piece back is something her soul, spirit and mind needed. Your mom is complete in a whole nother way and its THANKS TO YOU! :)

Be very happy I don't know where you are Kenny. First it's none of your business who or what she, or I, for that matter, choose to sleep with. Second - every human being deserves a level of respect, even Anders Breivik (although in his case it's more awareness than respect). The problem for you here is that I don't consider people like you to be members of humanity (not that that is generally a ringing endorsement). Three: some free advice and information. 20% of the women in your family will be lesbian and the same or more bisexual - if you know 100 women, on average 1 will be copping off with the family Labrador, 7 or 8 will like bathroom "games".. Need I go on? I would say get a life and go annoy someone else, but that'd be polluting the human race.

This is sweet. I was adopted, and never got the chance to meet my birth mother. I don't know if you've seen this poem... it always touches my heart. Once there were two women who never knew each other, One - you do not remember, the other you call mother. Two different lives shaped to make yours, One became your guiding star, the other became your sun. The first gave you life, and the second taught you to live in it. The first gave you a need for love and the second was there to give it. One gave you a nationality; the other gave you a name. One gave you the seed of talent; the other gave you an aim. One gave you emotions; the other calmed your fears. One saw your first sweet smile; the other dried your tears. One gave you up - that's all she could do. The other prayed for a child and God led her straight to you. Now you ask through all your tears the age-old question through the years; Heredity or environment - which are you a product of? Neither, my darling - neither - just two different kinds of love.

When I first saw this video I didn't expect I would ever find out who my birth parents were, or anything about my bio family. I had been told I might have two older half-sisters. Now I know who my birth parents were, who and where those older sisters are, have heard from one of them, am building a relationship with a younger sister, and a handful of first cousins. Seeing this was emotional to me before, and I understood the reservations expressed about the search and approach, and the relief that all went well. Now I understand the emotions of seeing the family resemblances. Adoption is wonderful, the secrets that haveoften been kept, not so much.

There might be an entirely opposite reason why she's making excuses, one that is actually quite common. She may be feeling the exact opposite to what you think, since in cases of close family meeting as adults you can experience something called GSA (nothing to do with a 70s Citroën) - Genetic Sexual Attraction. It's recognised under UK law here and it is *very* strong. It was used (unconsciously) by the ancient Egyptian pharaohs - brothers & sisters were split up between the ages of 18 months & 4 years old. When they were re introduced to each other - often the truncated sibling relationship became a hyper powerful sexual attraction. This works through at least grandparental relationships and is entirely possible across lesbian/bi/straight relationships. It's more likely that your mum was curious & is now disinterested but GSA and the awkwardness this can cause, especially with the lesser spotted godbotherer, may be a reason. Under UK law technically since I've never met my neices GSA might legally happen between us, but since I'd happily take their father (my brother) off this planet for the good of the race - I very very much doubt it.
@Gr8CanadianMom6 жыл бұрын
That's horrible. Best way to get past that feeling is to understand that you had it better by being adopted. I couldn't imagine what she would be like as a full-time parent. My Bio father did the same thing. Met him when I was 18, was connected for a bit then he stopped talking to me for years, since 2009. :/ Sometimes is best not to be around them or know them.

This is incredible. If only my grandma got to do the same before she passed. My grandmother gave birth to 5 children, and had her first child at the age of 15. my great grandparents forced her to give it up for adoption. YEARS later, when it was the right timing in her life my grandmother started looking for the daughter she had to give up only to have to adoption agency declined her request saying she couldn't find her daughter unless her daughter was also looking for her. My grandmother spend about 20 years on her own searching before she passed away in '98. On her deathbed, one of my aunt's promised my grandma that she would continue the search. After another 15 years of searching, and having laws change around finally my Aunt was able to get ahold of the information grandma had tried to get years ago, and took it to the internet. She posted just about everywhere she could think to look with the information and finally last year, some had one responded claiming to be the one they had been searching for, and she was searching for her real family too. 54 years in the making, we're finally meeting my adopted Aunt next month, who is flying out to meet the family in August.

Sadly, he passed 8 years ago but my dad has 7 half siblings who are all still alive and thrilled to hear they have another brother!! Seeing pictures of my grandfather and my dad side by side was unreal - they look like twins at the same ages. There is also an old audio recording of him that we got to listen to - which was so precious to hear. (My grandmother refused to tell my dad who his real father was because she had finally got married when he was still a toddler and she didn’t want anyone else to know that my dad was not her husband’s son. She took the secret to her grave. Thank God for these DNA websites). So happy for you that you found your daughter & sister. Lovely video, thanks for sharing!

I found my sisters, who were taken away over 16 years ago from my parents, I never met them before I found them, or maybe I don't remember, I was a baby. But, I found them 1 1/2 ago or so on facebook. My parents thought they'd never see them or talk to them again. We didn't even know they were adopted by another family. We met my older sister Renae, and she told us that my other sister, Jamie, doesn't want to meet us. (She's upset that my parents were able to keep me, but not her. But, that was out of my parents control.) Idk why I commented this, it's personal stuff....

I feel the same as Jamie, being in a similar situation...a child doesn't understand "out of parent's control" and really it's just a cop-out... (we don't live in Nazi Germany where the state just comes and takes some kids and leave others)..."we found a way for your siblings but not for you..."why not" ?...Well we weren't willing to but in the effort for you"...A person can say "out of my hands".. but those are just words and the proof is in the pudding. For someone to expect by saying "out of my control" would dissolve a lifetime of knowing you weren't good enough for your own family...as if life was that simple. I would just rather sit on the other side of the fence right where you left me...

I'm not understanding what all this gender talk has anything to do with what's happening in this video, and as for someone saying dysfunctional family, THIS IS the families of today and there is nothing wrong with it. It's showing the love that's missed. Some of you people just don't know how to comment accordingly. I think this beautiful girl finding her mothers daughter is very wonderful. You can at least see the great relationship between mother and daughter and that's awesome.

+PureTaylor I don't know what the disagreements are about here, and I'm afraid to read the comments to find out. But I will say thanks for sharing this. It's been so nice sharing such a heartfelt moment with you and your mom, though "dad"? didn't seem very excited. But I have some family like that. He'll probably get really excited after the fact.

So awesome! I found my birth son after 25 years via Facebook March of 2017. He actually traveled to my hometown a few days later which was really cool. We have been in contact ever since but now I text him more than he does me. I think he was more curious than anything. I am struggling emotionally with this but know I am blessed and should be thankful that he is only a text away. I know not many get this opportunity. I have been in search of a support group for birth parents who have found their kids. Would be interesting to see how they are handling their relationships.

I looked to the comments and expected nice things but the first thing I see is people talking shit. What the hell is wrong with people?? You know who you are and you need to get a life!! Any way! Taylor, AWESOME thing you did for your mom and sister!! I haven't looked for a first meet vid, I'm going to look! I hope there is one. Best of wishes for you and your family!

I think that it is pretty sad that this is a beautiful and touching video about someone surprising their mother with the news that they have found the child that their mom had placed for adoption, and the only comments some people have to make are in regards to sexuality and gender. Some of you need to get over your bigotry and get in touch with your humanity. This was a very sweet thing that she did for her mother, and if you watch this video and focus on anything but that, you are missing out.

You're awesome! That's so beautiful :D My Dad was adopted and didn't find his birth Mum until he was in his 30s (he's now 61), unfortunately we still don't know who his birth Dad is but I am on a mission to find out. Those ties are so, so precious.
