Welcome to The Frey Life daily vlogs! We are Peter & Mary, a married couple in our early 30's, showing the ups and downs of everyday life with #CysticFibrosis, a genetic lung disease that Mary was born with. In August 2019, Mary started a new CF medication that changed the trajectory of our future, and we are now in the process of growing our family through #adoption. We have an adorable standard poodle, Oliver, and a hairless sphynx cat, Harry. It's our hope that these videos can be an encouragement to to celebrate the little things in life and find joy amidst a world full of hard realities!

I am so Happy for ya'll! My husband and I had 6 grown children. And we adopted our grandson. We first got him 10 years ago. He is 15 now. And through my illness he has helped me grow in my faith as much as I have him. We didn't know how things would go for either one of our health issues. But God got us through joyfully. I am a birth parent(genetic parent) myself and I encourage you to really look into open or semi open, not for the genetic parents’ sake but for your child. It’s much easier on them so they don’t have to go through the “finding my parents” thing. It’s worked well for the parents and family of the son I placed.

When we built David’s (my son) crib for the first time, we made it up with bedding, turned around, turned back and Major, our German Shepherd at the time, had jumped in! The joys of expectant parenthood, whether natural or via adoption! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Yayyyyy! We adopted our daughter from birth from Massachusetts. She’s 6 now!! What a blessing!! Be 100% open with your baby about their adoption and talk about it with them often :-) Congrats!

I always find it odd the process that people have to go through to adopt a child, but if you get pregnant, you're good to go. No home study, no interviews to make sure you're able to care for a child, etc. This statement is by no means anything negative about the 2 of you, obviously, you will pass with flying colors. That is going to be one very lucky little boy or girl.

Hi Peter! Hi Mary! I just wanted to take the time to say thankyou, im saying thankyou because a couple of years ago i went through some stuff that made me the coldest/meanest most negative version of myself- I was always angry and could never see the good in anything and i refused help. I started watching you guys somewhere and 2016 and honestly i thought “How can these people love life and continue to stay so strong through this illness.” and im gonna admit that it annoyed me a little. but NOW in 2021 I’m back and ive been binging every single video, I cannot even begin to express the positive vibes that radiate from you two. I’ve been watching you guys on and off for probably about 3 years, starting when Mary’s health was starting to decline and I was actually really worrisome for her in my own life, and I remember you guys saying that a child wasn’t ever going to be an option with Mary’s health, and let me tell you when I was SHOCKED when I saw this huge announcement! I’m so happy for you both and the part where someone’s child said “Peter is going to be a dad!” It just warmed my heart so much and I’m balling over here in Ohio! As a newborn adoptee 50 years ago, I have to say that everyone won in this situation. I have had amazing parents and 10 years ago located my birthmom. Good had a plan for all of us and how lucky I was to be and feel so much love for my entire life! I'm so excited to follow your journey😆

Mary and Peter! I just wanted to say that y’all are an inspiration to me. I feel like I can somewhat relate to you as I have an autoimmune disease myself and it runs my life. To see you Mary, push through every day truly is amazing! If I had one with in the world, it would be to meet you guys! I myself have had 51 surgeries and you both give me hope that I can make it through everything! I am also trying to get back to god and since I have been mad at him for all of me my poor health. My parents did foster care. You need baby gates at the stairs top and bottom. You will also need child safety locks on all the cabinets. And a key lock on Mary's med supply closet. Best child locks for cabinets are the magnet key locks.

I am so excited for you guys. Me and my husband did fostercare for almost 8 yrs , we had 15 foster kids in that time and adopted our youngest 3 from the foster system. I am so happy for you both! I am praying for you both & your baby! I am a Mom of a 26 year old adopted son! I remember going through all the paperwork & the home study. Congratulations! What a great adventure you are embarking on. My daughter and her husband adopted their first son (my grandson). He was adopted at 2 days old and he will be a year on August 8. I could not love this boy more than a child conceived. My daughter is due soon with her second son conceived by IVF. I know exactly what you are going through by going through it with my daughter. You will be wonderful parents.

You two are going to be amazing parents! You've always had so much love and joy in your hearts, and I just know your child is going to be so happy to be apart of your lives! I am my best friend's daughter's godmom. I live with her and being apart of this kid's life is one of the best parts of my life easily. She adopted her from her sister because her sister has had a lot of problems and isn't in a place where she can take care of her kids anytime soon. As her godmom and someone living in the house with them, I also had to do a health examination and fingerprints to make sure I'm safe to live with and could take care of her full time should anything ever happen to my friend (let's hope that never happens). It took almost 2 years for my friend to finish the adoption process but it's all been worth it. For example, tonight, unprompted as she was carried up to bed she looked back at me and said "I love you" :,)
