Thanks for the post! As always your information gives me lots to think about (High praise I hope). FYI, I did your spreadsheet to estimate ptypic age and found it interesting as well. CA 65.5, Ptypic age 53.51

Thanks John, and good job on the 12yr reduction! I'd use aging.ai, too, because age isn't included as a variable, which means that it's possible to have a greater reduction for biological age than Levine's test. For ex., see this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/r5mrloJvor15opo

Great video as always! Extremely informative. Thanks! It is too bad that physiological age doesn’t perform better since it contains many metrics that are easily and inexpensibly available to us. Do we have any idea how the Levine Blood Age and Aging.ai Age correlate with all-cause mortality risk?

Telomere length has very little corelation but there is a corelation. Telomere length is the amount of protection on your DNA from attrition. The higher your protection of your dna, it should have some effect but ultimately it's other things that determines your lifespan.

There's recently published evidence that associates telomere length with dementia risk-I'll have more on that in a video coming soon!

If I understand well, you are comparing different biological age metrics and how well they are able to predict all-cause mortality risk. However, how is that measured? I mean, to count with reliable data and build such indicator, it would imply to have a data base with people whom their Telomere lengths were measured at some point, and the researchers waited until they died, took note of both dates and were validating their assertions. Quite honestly, I doubt that has been done, though I may be wrong. More even so, what I find very unlikely (I would say impossible) is that such statistics have been done for biological age clocks such as the DNAmAge, DNAmPhenoAge, and DNAmGrimAge, because all of them have been developed in recent times, so I don’t understand how the researchers were able to collect the data (which may take many, many years) and obtain the results that they publish.

Andres, unfortunately you're wrong, that's exactly what they did in both scenarios. Please have a look at the papers in the video's description to verify that.

Michael, I overviewed them now, but again I doubt that they waited until all the participants died to construct their numbers. According to the definition I'm aware of about "all-cause mortality" it is a term used by epidemiologists, or disease-tracking scientists, to refer to death from any cause. So to really prove the effectiveness of the clocks, they should have measured all these variables at certain point before death for a representative number of humans, wait until they die and construct their numbers, which again I doubt they did because in the periods indicated in the papers I don't see long enough periods of time to do so. I guess that their conclusions are based in some statistical procedures but not in real and verified information. Please keep in mind that it's my view as an engineer not as a biologist and also that I'm not criticizing your work which is correctly based on the Papers. Perhaps is a matter of how I view the term "all-cause mortality risks" and wheter or not it's necessary to wait until the tested subjects die or not. @@conqueragingordietrying123 I think you're not getting my point. They don't say anywhere that their numbers are based on people that were alive when they did the various tests, and that years later they died. But it's ok.

You don't have to believe the data, but it's been peer-reviewed. If you dispute the validity of their approach, submit a paper commentary to a journal. Arguing with me about it won't accomplish anything, I'm just reporting what's been published.

Hey Amy, nope, especially considering that there are better metrics of biological age (as shown in the video). In contrast, in conjunction with my blood tests from earlier this week, I'll have epigenetic data (Horvath's clock) at some point in the near future.
