If she came for him in full force would be different. If they had a round 2 I can see it going her way. He might be smarter, but in no way is he stronger.

To be fair they definitely would succeed because they would have never had to deal with the final member kinimaru. The sound four clearly has trouble fighting shikumaru's original team even if it meant going all out (chouji) but if the sand siblings were hear, gaara could easily take at least 3 of them out by himself since his sand would have protected him and none of them can really get through his sand. It's clear that kimimaru was an exception who could brute force his way through if he used curse seal lvl2 but these sound four are no where near kimimaru's level as shown in a flashback though off screen but he single handedly defeated all of them easily (probably without even using his curse seal). The only one who can trouble gaara is taiyayu due to genjutsu but even then I have my doubts since gaara will get to her first most likely. In all honesty I think if we take out kimimaru for obvious reason and if it was the sand siblings Vs the sound four this mission would be a success.
