Dougo, take the threaded plug out of the left pipe and run a drain snake down it and then up it to the spot where the p trap connects, your vent is plugged, it happens all the time with island vents like yours, make sure with a disposal you run plenty of water, hope you feel better soon

There is water in your loop vent kicker vent under the floor. You are better off installing an oatey air admittance valve. I have been a union plumber for 35 years

Hate you guys feel bad, personally had cold symptoms for 2 weeks. Chest x-rays, blood work, covid test and flu test…..nothing test positive. Hang in there

Hope you all get better soon! 3rd generation plumber here. They call that a loop vent. That is the correct way to vent an island sink. I would recommend having a plumber (or Dougo) run his drain cleaner through that clean out plug, probably have a partial plug that is on the verge of air locking the drain. After it’s open and clean, try putting some yeast down the drain and letting it sit for a couple hours and wash it down after that. Helps a lot with kitchen drains!

The noise is air trapped in the system so all you have to do is unscrew the vent screw

If you have another sink, tub etc that you don’t use all the time, the trap can get dry and cause the issue you’re having. Run water in all your drains.

My wife was sick on Christmas day too. Viral sinus infection so the family was able to all be here, but wife wasn't able to prepare food she usually prepares. So my daughter-in-law and myself we were able to fix those dishes for her.

Hey Dugo. Pour some baking soda and vinegar backed up by boiling water. That will clean your drains right out.

I’m assuming you are on a septic system since you are so far out in the country. I was told you should never have a garbage disposal on a septic system. The garbage doesn’t break down before it floats into the drain field. That will plug it up. But check with a plumber because I’m not one.

I . read through the Bible yearly, and have for several years (perhaps 20?) I read 3 chapters of the Old Testament, and a chapter of Psalms, to start. When Psalms is finished, I move to a chapter of Proverbs. When Proverbs is finished, I move to a chapter of the New Testament. Usually, I'm finished sometime in November. It works for me :)

Exercise those immune systems! :) Hope you're both well soon. An accessible P-trap should have a clean-out on the bottom (Canada code); take the P-trap apart so you can check if it's clogged. It might be clogged. All sinks are vented - it's likely vented. If this just started it's likely a clog. > Snake it. Never medicate symptoms! Your body is telling you what you need to do. Listen. You can come out of the clean out plug in that upward piping and put in a 90° any go to the to under the cabinet top 6:36 and in stall a air breather to stop the glugling

Check your vents Dougo. Maybe a roof vent is plugged or if you have a vent under the sink. Make sure all are functuoning.

Our company from Edmonton, Alberta was sick. Our daughter-in-law had a bad cold. So we have avoided the cold that she had. She is a Nurse Practitioner so she should know what to do. We managed to play Yahtzee and I lost. We are hoping to have a better New Year's Day. By the way, our daughter-in-law brought a beef roast instead of a turkey. We had a pretty good Christmas, all things considered. She brought all the food, so why would we complain?

Happy New year. One thing you might try is having hand sanitizer with you. My wife and I use it whenever we get back to the truck this time of the year. I always say the hands are the enemy, you touch everything with your hands and all it takes is to rub your eye or nose and you can get sick. This time of the year viruses are in full swing, get better soon.

Doug, check your dishwasher filter in the bottom. It may be retaining water causing your problem. I notice it connects into your disposal.

Our bathroom sink does that but I think I need to remove the trap and clean it out. My buddy had a squirrel that went down the vent pipe in their cabin and their plumbing would not work properly. I had the Dougo sick thing for a couple of days and then t was gone, no fever though! Today is Sunday the 29th and Al the snow we had is gone for the 2nd time, so far got 6 tenths of rain today. Run a bunch of ice cubes through the disposal. If you have a shower or bathroom you’re not regularly using. Run some water in them so the p-trap gets filled. Drink a bottle of wine so you can reap the vitamins..Get well soon.

Yes, not venting, my air conditioner man put a cap on the air conditioner vent pipe and it caused that gurgling in my shower. When I took the Cap he put on off, the noise stopped.
