Awesome! Imma check this out because right now I have Shadowheart as a Tempest Cleric/Storm Sorcerer. But I can see how this variant can be very cool as well! I haven’t even seen many build videos covering this multiclass.

Tempest cleric is one of the best classes in the game, and definitely the most overlooked! Being able to maximize lightning damage with create water is broken. Pairs well with a ice and lightning sorcerer I don’t know if you played Divinity Original Sin 2 also by Larian but that game has lots of cool terrain effects and magic damage and reminds me of some of my BG3 teams

I go Ancients-11/Tempest-1. Gloves of Dex for initiative, all points into Str/Wis/Con. I'm also using a mod that makes Wis the casting stat for Pallies. Instead of Divine Strike, I use Moonbeam to deal sustain radiant dmg, and at lvl 11 I get improved Divine Strike. I do a lot of Radiant/Ligjtning dmg every turn while using less spell sluts, and I have 3 auras.

Personally a far more better combo is lvl 5 paldin for extra attack and lvl7 tempest cleric for spell slots up to lvl5 and combine that with the deva mace you can deal upwards of 100 damage every turn and for aoe rain down lightning plus combine thunderous smite with destructive wrath

Create water + Chain lightning channel divinity = everything dead before combat starts. If that fails have a Sword bard / sorcerer with cone of cold

If you take magic initiate: Druid you can get Shillelagh and that scales with wisdom which is perfect for this build as there’s plenty of good quarterstaffs that have added bonuses for this build

Why add in the two Paladin levels? Just curious. Wouldn't fighter add the extra action surge? And do most of the same, as you are not trying to be a melee character...

Glad you enjoyed! I have a Thor build I’m working on right now that is a tempest cleric but throws hammers as well, it’s a work in progress but it’ll be a fun build similar to this

Blue dragonborn, 1white dragon sorc(the cold dmg temp hp spell and con/cha prof), 2(6) tempest(heavy/martial prof), 9(5) vengence paladin? Polearm/reverb build with drakethroat. Str and cha, heavy armor.

the only companion with a less tragic backstory is Halsin, but even he’s been through a ton. He’s also the oldest of them by far at 350 years old so yeah maybe he’s been through a lot too…

@@JasonDunna I'm *pretty* sure Halsin's family died from like a natural disaster? I'm not sure but I think so? Shar, Vlaakith, Mizora, Cazador, Mystra, like damn can these characters get a break.

I have a question about paladin - so I'm running a classic bardadin on Minthara, 2 lvls of paladin for the smite and 10 bard, but for some reason I can't set my smite reaction so I can choose when to use it. Do I need more lvls in paladin so I can change that?

It should come at level 2, press “K” and check your reactions it should be listed there

Taking 16 in Charisma isn’t madatory due to smites not needing it for scaling so you can max wisdom and boost another ability score to alleviate some of the Multiple Attribute Dependency. Also it’s pronounced Re-Vivi-fy not Revive-A-Fy. I love using this build with 2 levels in Evocation Wizard.

Yeah it’s not fully necessary but I had two ways I was going with this build, one for the melee focus with 5 levels Paladin and this one. Evocation wizard goes hard with any caster!
