mounting a helix to a temple board is crazy

As much as I like Temple Audio pedalboards, I find it surprising that the larger openings are too small to fit IEC / MIDI / XLR plugs. I always custom-fabricate all of my own cables, so this isn't a deal-breaker for me, but it also means that once I've soldered the plug on a cable, I'd have to desolder it (or cut it off) to move it to another spot on the board. It would take a pretty small manufacturing change for Temple Audio to address this, as they could just reprogram the CNC pattern for the holes.

Nice build!!! I like the idea of those flat plates underneath. There is a lot of space under there that goes to waste if you have something like the helix mounted over a large area. I mounted a desktop wireless base unit under mine on the left side and placed power in the middle of the board and have usb neutriks connectors for connecting a helix, boss, and a Matthew’s effects futurist. I’m having a flip up bridge built for the right side so I can mount a few more pedals underneath and have space for the boss and something else in the top. This has given more ideas about how I can maybe get a few more pedals added preferably midi based so I can control them without seeing them.

I almost went Temple Audio to mount my Helix, and seeing this piece of art, makes me glad I didn’t 🤣 the amount of work you did just in finding the right connectors is exquisite. I don’t have the patience you have! Great work!!

Yeah. I ended up going to the 43” one. Making it even bigger. Cool system. But expensive with all the “accessories and connectors”

What did you end up doing to cut the holes bigger for the power cable and the XLR connectors? Very helpful video by the way. Thank you!

how did you go from IEC mains to the Hi5 PSU? I see the Hi5 > 12V > ACMOD > ??? > IEC Main. I'm a totally new to building pedal boards. your video has helped me a lot so far.

I am actually doing the same thing to my Temple Audio board! What screws did you use to mount the Punch plates? The original screws seem to small when I try to attach it.

Where does the power cable from the helix go to? Does it also go to the power supply or does it go out seperatly?

The helix goes into an IEC 2 way splitter and then connects to the temple audio IEC input

I have a temple audio duo 24. You can make one really nice without all this. This seems a bit excessive. Just play and have fun
