Temporary Flagpole, Quick and Easy

A flagpole you can set up and take down in seconds.
Materials:
a length of clothes-pole (I used 9 feet; 10 or 12 would be better)
a heavy patio umbrella stand
a couple of zip ties
a couple of quick-clip key rings
a couple of shims
a flag
a helper!

I really like the way you attached the flag to the pole with key rings, a simple but effective idea. The one thing I wish the British were more like the Americans is your patriotism regarding flying your flag. In the UK the only time that we see flags flying from properties is during international football (soccer) tournaments. Even then, there have been reports in the media of people having letters posted through their doors accusing them of being racist! I would be almost certain that this would not be an issue in the USA? I think that this is probably why we don't see as many flags in the UK. Thank you for another interesting film. Kind regards. N.

I'm assuming you'll take the flag in at night or when it rains. That would leave the metal base. If someone fell on it, that would be a problem.
