Standard always seems extremely prepared against creature synergy decks like this. With this sort of thing on Ten New Brews, it always seems like you either get outgoldfished by even more linear decks like Convoke or Gruul Prowess or by something unfair like Reanimator, or you get wrathed into the dirt by control decks that are built to deal with those other decks.

You are right. Probably because the meta has been consistently dominated by mono red aggro and it's variants.

I've been playing lifegain quite a bit since Bloomburrow came out, and I eventually cut all the scoured barrens out of the deck. The deck lives and dies on having turn 1 enablers, and a tapped land just kills your momentum I've found.

I think this deck will always struggle because it isn’t linear enough to be aggro, it’s not strong enough to be combo, and it’s just not controlling any meta aggro decks. Hard to build, I think you need the splintertwin for power level.

That first game of match 3 should have been taking 1 off the pain land every turn to give the essence channeler vig and flying, but i guess with all the bounce spells it wouldnt really matter

I like this shell a lot but I feel like the top end should be replaced with Enduring Vitality and Bloodthirsty Conqueror for a combo finish
