Some tips: 1. NEVER run past all the enemies just to get to the next part of the story, cutscene, area, etc. You will end up being super low leveled and not be able to do anything in those areas nor defeat the bosses becauses you're so low leveled and underprepared. 2. If you can knock away the enemies while galloping on your horse, you're ready to challenge yourself with more difficult enemies. 3. If you have never played dq 11, don't go too far to research about the game, you'll end up finding major spoilers (I did this many times trying to get help with quests) 4. Don't carry all your gold with your 24/7. Put it in a bank(usually found in inns). God forbid you die when you had 10k gold on your and now you've just lost half of it. Use the banks, they are a lie saver. 4. Don't ignore the +10 agility/ +3% crital hit chance/ etc. Skills. They are actually useful. They make the skills you already have better. 5. Do side quests. Just do them. As many as you can. Lots of them give you useful stuff and the side quests tend not to be too difficult. 6. Want one of those cool outfits for your party member? Research how to get some. You may not even be able to get some of your party members outfits till later in the game. 7. Talk to everybody in towns. There's a chance one will just give you something cool for free, like a recipe or item. 8. Don't neglect certain characters defense, attack, etc. just cause you dont use them all the time. Atleast give them something that is sorta equal to their level. Side Quests are a good way to get good items (especially earlier in game) for these characters without spending money. 9. Don't make two characters use the same weapons. Not everyone in your party needs to only use swords. It really limits your party especially when it could be better, that being said... 10. Your parties skills need to be organized. Don't just get your party member sword skills when your party member used knives. If you want switch out every once and a while, just try to keep them balanced. 11. Veronica isn't really as good of a character as you may have thought when you first met her. It won't be long before she is dying before she can act. Prioritize in defense for her. 12. It's ok to make both rab and veronica use heavy wands.i know it kina goes against a past point but this is an exception. Serena will always be a superior healer though, since its her speciality. Try to keep her in your party and dont let her die. 13. hymns can actually be useful, don't ignore them. 14. Get the "+magical mending" skills for serena 100% 15. Level grinding can be fun. Try to fight monsters actually up to your level. That way you gte the proper exp. 16. Right after leaving cobble stone, obliterate every slime in your path. Get those levels early. Fight monsters in the way to Heliodor. More may be added. Please share your tips in replies! Don't spoil anything though More may be added.

Dunno man, so many JRPGs have a nasty habit of punishing you for going a little nuts... Dragon Quest 11 is extremely generous with things like autosaving, respeccing, grinding levels, reserve party EXP, farmable mini-medals (if you skipp'd that), missable sidequests, etc

As far as I understand, that was the last DQ game released in English on a major home console (meaning not handheld). I'd be surprised to find out I'm wrong here, as that is my favorite video game of all time. I tell people this... and usually they stare blankly. I get it... we aren't in Japan and that game came out in 2004. Whatever. But this game. This fucking game my brother. This game is DQ8 on steroids - big time. Anyone who plays both will recognize that right away. Aside from DQ fanboying, it's clear (about 25 hours and 1/4 into the game) that the people working on this game poured time and thought into it. In an era of paid DLC and in-app purchases and microtransactions - this is a COMPLETE video game, and a beautiful gift to those of us that enjoy the genre. I am not really sure what compelled me to write this long comment. Lol. I'm just excited. After fourteen years they seriously did it right. Bravo Square Enix. Enjoy the game y'all.

I would like to add: on your map there is a tab to show all sparkly spots and what they are (if you have previously picked them up). This is great to find items that you can use for forging new equipment. Also later on you can buy the Perfection Pearls (that you use to rework your equipment on the fun-size forge). If you are playing on pc it is worth to download and install the orchestra music, which is much nicer to listen to than the midi they are using in the game.

@hathorliderc
@hathorliderc 5 жыл бұрын
Draconian trials are options you can change when first starting a game. You can also change them later by going into the menu under the MISC category. The Mini-medal shop is not something you need to worry about early in the game. However, during the course of your adventure you're going to come across an all-girls academy. The academy's headmaster is who you have to talk to about the medals. He can be found inside the building in the center-most room.

if you want a lot of perfectionist pearls, make a recipe you know you can get perfect every time over and over in the forge, even if you're paying to make it, if you always perfect the recipe you can always sell it at a profit of a couple hundred gold coins, making and selling high tier items over and over (as long as you consistently perfect or at least +2 them) is an easy way to make some extra pocket change, and of course also a TON of perfectionist pearls. i discovered this in the italy based town so i was certainly shocked at how easy it was to get pearls to +3 all of my gear.

I agree with the Draconian quest thingie. Battles are far too easy without the "Stronger Enemy" thing selected, so i'd also advise using that for a first playthrough if you don't just want to play the game very very casually for the story. All the other options i'd save for potential future playthroughs or if you REALLY care to fill out that Draconian quest Completion list. They all feel more like slight to major annoyances that only make the game more tedious and grindy than add any real meaningful difficulty.

@@mahfoudissam1285 uhm...if you play a game you don't like for 40 hours...you are just dumb. Subjective opinions like yours do not make a game "bad". And it is not objectively bad either. You are just an idiot hating on a simple video game...and an even bigger idiot for wasting so much time on a game that you dislike so much. And I would bet frickin' money on the fact that you are hating on ff15 because it differs from the previous instalments you had a huge bias for out of nostalgia. The only thing missing is that you are rembling about bullshit like: "This is not a final fantasy anymore!" Spoiler alert: ALL final fantasy games are different from one another. 15 is as much "final fantasy like" as all others, wether you like it or not. But completely shunning it down and hating on it, not giving it a chance at all and not even trying to see it as a game on itself because you did expect it to be like a game you already liked (much likely a older final fantasy...dare i say SEVEN) is the most idiotic thing to do and just shows that you are a miserable person full of bitterness that never understood the franchize to begin with. So please shut your mouth before you disgrace yourself and the community even further.

Kalin Gonçalves Yeah that's what you do, check the item's description to know what it can do if it is used, the description generally tells the effect of an item. Like using the cheiron's bow casts a weak multiheal.

Pablo González Plasencia No the weapons, armour or accesories don't dissapear after using it, the exception is the prayer ring will break after a few uses. When you are in a fight go to items select the weapon you would want to use, eg: staff of ghent in dq 6 if you use it in battle you cast a midheal with no mp cost or the sunderbolt blade casts a zap with no mp cost even if you are not equipping the said weapon. In dq 9 you can only use equipped weapons, armor or accessories, but you can swap weapons from misc. option before you select fight option. Keep in mind the damage which is caused by an effect from using a weapon is fixed and is not affected by tension

Does the enemies level with you? I've been grinding levels in this one area for 2 hours and it seems the enemies still hit just as hard. The area in question is Gallopolis. Everyone in my party including sylvando is level 16 and it just feels like i've been grinding for no reason. Have all their weapons at +3 but it still seems like it takes a while to kill just one enemy.

you're not completely alone. i'm guessing the game just gets easier once you start unlocking more skills than you and i currently have.

@GampoEC
@GampoEC 6 жыл бұрын
Sage Pirotess I wouldn't do shops or amour, but the XP cap helps a lot so you don't over lvl too fast. And the harder monsters is dope as fuck. No idea how hard it gets, but you can always turn it off. After growing up on final fantasy and loving JRPG's, I would highly recommend harder monsters. 40+ hours of no challenge was a disappointment. I feel way more rewarded with new equipment and reworks now.

@@randysavage4397 Now i want to wait til level 30 and try it. Draconian mode enabled too. No running from battles and no shopping. Sad part is with both enabled its still too easy. But god its old school JRPG Crack.

@@toddm7367 that is gonna take forever I made it to lvl 20 but gave up after that. The grind was just too long. I ended up just hacking the game and boosting my stats. The scene when you beat him is just a little different because they cut the fire breathing scene and Erik is just astounded about you being strong enough to beat the dragon. No achievement for it unfortunately. Good luck on your lvl 30 grind journey.

If you guys started without turning on Draconian Quest don’t worry, all you need to do is play the game slightly underleveled. It’s more fun that way if you’re looking for more of a challenge. Sure you can kill a metal slime every now and then, just don’t go nuts farming them.
