These tenants are saying they were not given enough notice to move. Did they not see the for sale sign on their front lawn for maybe a few months before the closing date? They must have allowed for showings as well. Legally speaking, this law is ridiculously in favor of the tenant and completely unfair to the home owner.

Does anyone know what happened at the April 2024 LTB hearing? Have the tenants moved out? Did the sale go through and do the buyers now live in their house?

Call in a fumigation company and make the house unlivable for a month.

IF YOU HAVE LEGAL POSSESSION OF THE RENTAL PROPERTY AND THE TENANT IS LIVING THERE ILLEGALLY - PULL THE HYDRO METER OFF! If as the owner you are paying the hydro then ask your hydro company to pull the meter. It is your right to do so.

Rents generally are way up because house prices up
@MrBuddy-r8w Жыл бұрын
@@cliffc8177 This is why house prices are up......Prime Minister Trudeau's trip to India in 2018 that cost Canadians in excess of 1.5 million?....He is a little reminder......."figures released by the government include $323,000 for hotel stays, $485,070 to fly and staff the VIP Airbus for 43.7 hours over the nine-day trip, $5,235 for cell phone fees, $5,100 to buy Canadian wines for use at official events and $17,044.21 to fly Vancouver Chef Vikram Vij to India, where he cooked a dinner for a meeting and an official reception at the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi". Yet, many Canadians are being forced to choose between food and shelter. "Trudeau's Christmas trip to a private resort in Jamaica, from Dec. 26, 2022, to Jan. 4, 2023, cost taxpayers $162,000. Trudeau's three vacations in the past year have cost Canadians more than $678,000". Again Canadians are being forced to choose between food and shelter. All f this money spent for the luxury of the government, while citizens struggle to pay for food, shelter and medicine.

Is their a lease in place? Being that he offered money maybe....

All Ontario rental residential properties are under the same lease, legally. Once the initial lease runs out, it is automatically renewed every month until the tenant decided to move out (giving appropriate notice to the landlord) or the landlord has a valid reason to evict. Wanting to make more money is not a legal reason to evict in Ontario.

Selling a property isn't a valid reason for eviction. The new owners inherit the ongoing lease and they can choose to evict. This article is incredibly biased as has been CTV's coverage of landlord tenent disputes. The current landlord has no case and it is landlords like him that are clogging up the system. The only story here is a landlord entering into a legally binding rental agreement and are shocked tenants won't allow them to reneg for the bare minimum.
