Let me guess: The landlord is still required to pay his property taxes every month. If the Government wants the tenants to live free, at least be fair and don't take property taxes from him. Also ask the bank to stop getting his mortgage payments. Good luck with that.

@sheparddog117 Providing housing is a part of producing something of value for the economy, the housing exists because landlords invested in the land and either built or maintained the property. The same way small grocery stores sell you products they didn't create themselves. Housing is also an investment and investing on loan is also extremely common and is the reason the amount invested in the economy heavily relies on interest rates. If the landlord's investment fails because it's a bad investment and has no value. Then it's the landlords fault for being ''irresponsible''. It is quite different when you invest into something and the government flat out denies the income from it though. Another way to think about it is to think about it as a business that provides something lets think of it as a supermarket. Now the government passes a bill that allows people to legally steal food from the store. The store loses all revenue yet still has to pay for buying of the goods themselves. According to the store owner they should just ''go get a real job and contribute something to society, it is irresponsible to expect for people to pay for the goods you provide''. Your entire argument relies on legalizing theft and breaking of agreements. If that is your stance I would kindly ask you to educate yourself on law and economics.
@shgalagalaa3 жыл бұрын
@sheparddog117 Yes if a landlord breaks their agreement you are more than within your rights to sue them and withhold rent. The agreement is that you pay rent and get to live in the apartment that is maintained for you. If you stop paying rent you get evicted. Im glad you finally came around. Merchants sell something that has value. So I suppose you give more value to a coffe machine than sleeping indoors. You might be alone on that one. Also should hotels be free? Afterall they provide the same service as landlords but at astronomical prices, same with airbnb. Also I moved to study at 19 in an apartment that I am paying for myself through the money I saved working through high-school and investing my savings instead of wasting it like most teens. Also the house existing without a landlord is simply false. Why do you think the house was built? Was it built because someone decided it would be a good investment to build a house and then sell it to someone? Who are the people that are willing to buy these houses and as such make building one profitable? Oh right, the LANDLORD. Go get an economics degree instead of embarrassing yourself any further

Every State is different but here in Oklahoma if a landlord needs to evict a tenant during this hard time all you need to do is terminate their lease agreement. In most agreements there is a subletting Claus , meaning in your case the current renter is allowing non registered people live in the home. That alone is a violation of lease agreement. You can also say that you or a relative needs to move in the home. That's our issue. And our lawyer has stated that to do this you can't ask the courts for back rent or fees. But you can always sue them in court later. So far this is the only way to regain the property. Please don't be discouraged it may take a little time but check with a lawyer in your area they should be able to assist you. Remember, ( no lease , no stay ) good luck to you.

The 5th Amendment to the US Constitution reads in part “…..nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law….” Depriving a landlord his legally owed rent without any way for him to refute this detention of his legally, and contractually, owed compensation is a direct violation of his rights under this Amendment. That means it is illegal in every State and Territory of the Union.

Wtf are you talking about? It’s still his property and the state won’t come in to seize it.
@petertimmins66572 жыл бұрын
@@chakiaman9375 what part of the concept that the State has no power to just unilaterally cancel all leases without offering the owners just compensation for the seizing of their property? By not allowing the owners the use of their property as they see fit to use it is a form of seizure. The right to use your property as you want to use it, with exceptions such as zoning restrictions, is part of the liberties our Constitution is designed to protect from governmental intrusion. If you were to actually think this thru and look at it from the perspective of the property owners then you might start to understand this. They are being denied the fruit of their labor, owning rental properties, without compensation and without due process. They are still having to pay the bank the mortgage payments every month and to pay for the upkeep and maintenance, but now the government has, without due process, deprived them of their income. They cannot collect the rents owed them nor are they allowed to evict those who are not paying. Also, under our Constitution there is a specified process for enacting legislation and it ain’t by Executive Orders. Bottom line, Executive Orders are NOT laws, nor can they be used in place of laws. They are directives to the various Executive Branch Departments and Agencies on how they are to conduct business. These EOs do NOT apply to the general public unless they are employed by or interacting with that Department or Agency. For example, if I owned land that bordered onto a National Park and the Park issued a no fires allowed order that order doesn’t apply to me in my property. If I want to go onto their land then it applies, but not off of it. This is exactly why the Constitution was designed to be a LIMITED government, meaning one that forced itself into our daily lives as little as possible. That is no longer the government we have.
