I use the Metolius PAS as a personal anchor similar to the petzl adjust. Its nice because you can keep it out of the way on your harness easily and when you connect to bolts you can actually equalize and connect to multiple points with the PAS. Adjusting length is different because you have to move the carabiner bit very nice for setting up top rope anchors on sport routes or for multipitch stuff. You can also use it to extend a rappel super easily

Those Tenayas are my daughter’s new comp shoes - she’s been 100% Scarpa Instinct VS in the past, but she was struggling with heal looseness. She found the Tenayas painful for a few sessions, but loves them now they’re worn in. The Blue Ice bag looks like a flimsier Patagonia Cragsmith 45 - got one of them from The Depot for £104 and it’s perfect for outside.

Glad she likes them! I used to have that Patagucci bag, quite nice, but I love the haul bag style packs these days.

Lol back to back shoe comparison. That's funny given that that's what we were discussing just a day or two ago

Interesting, i already thought about this shoe! I have really wide feet and the scarpa instinct fits my foot nearly perfect, happy that there is such shoe with a wide toe box. nice to have your comparison!

If you found the instincts too wide have you tried the Instinct Lace? Same last, but you can tighten them up much more than the Velcro one. I wear them until they wear out and then get Llanberis Resoles to redo them in XS Grip 2, which makes them excellent for bouldering.

The Lace are the same last so still too wide for my narrow feet, although you're right you can synch them down more.

If you're talking to blue ice about your wall bag, tell them to look at the edelrid rope rider 45. Similar back. Main difference is they have 3 palm size lumps of foam on the back. Gives a lil bit of breathability and makes sure nothing sticks into your back. And is much cheaper and lighter solution than fitting airscapes frames.

Any idea how the Indalo fit compared to the Mastia? The Mastia seem to fit me perfectly and I'm wondering whether these may be too narrow
@JBMountainSkills6 ай бұрын
A touch more narrow and a little less volume, bit more pointy too. Not massively different, but deffo try a pair on first!

They're pretty similar. The Indalo is slightly more narrow in the toes, but the lace thing lets you open up a bit more space in the forefoot if you need it. The main issue I have with Mastias is that they tend to crush my forefoot around the base of the pinky where my foot is widest. I haven't have that problem with the Indalo though.

Ive resoled my iatis twice (from llanberis resoles). Got a note in the box saying they cant take another one. Shape held up well through resoles. But they are just now starting to fail in other places

Good to hear they took a couple, that’s decent 😊

Note on Indalo: Great for very narrow feet, can not wear scarpas at all, only some sportivas
