... such a great game I played growing up way back when. I like dragging non dismembered dead bodies around and hiding them from plain view for some reason lol

Funny enough tenchu was one of the games that got me into gaming. I remember being in a party with family and all us kids were around the Playstation and struggling to figure out what we needed to do xD

This game would be a perfect starting point for a remake series of Tenchu. The plot has stood the test of time and I still enjoy how formative it is to Rikimaru and Ayame's personalities as adults. With today's technology, a remake would be very easy to accomplish. They really only need to accomplish a few things for it to succeed: 1) make it fun, 2) properly convey the story, and 3) fully realize the aesthetic and level design without the need to sacrifice anything this time. Also just read that Tenchu's parent company, Acquire, just had an adjustment in who their parent company is 2024. Hopefully this means some positive changes on the horizon! Edit: Oh goodness we NEED a version of this game with the music!

You should definitely give a try to Shinobido Way of the Ninja (The best Ninja game that was ever create it in my opinion) it's really a hidden gem of the PS2 Era, you really feel like a True Ninja when you play this game, no debate whatsoever, in my opinion it's even better than the Tenchu series. ☯️

This was a brilliant video, I’m making a video on the Tenchu series myself and while it’s certainly not going to be as long or great as yours, it was a pleasure to watch an in depth retrospective of a fairly forgotten game. Keep up the good work!

As teenagers, my best friend and I were the only people (what the kids today call weebs) who were into this series, and we played this installment in particular exhaustively. We spent months on it, yet not much of the main mode after beating it. Instead, we were OBSESSED with the mission editor. Coming up with an impossible level wasn't the objective, though. Anybody can craft an unsolvable puzzle, but a puzzle that's just shy of impossible while still being entirely fair? It was like playing a game of Hangman, or I guess Hang-from-the-ceiling-man.

What a game, perhaps the most underrated ever. The story is awesome n very heartbreakingIt'd be an excellent subject for a remake, they just need to cut out the awkward things like Genbu's old personality etc. Anyway will you ever make videos about Syphon Filter games? :)

@SupportGamin2025 he had amnesia, and then followed the woman he just met, and then doubled down even after he regained his memory. You could argue it's a sunk cost effect.

I'm a massive fan of stealth games now, to the point I always go for the stealth option no matter how mechanically stupid, and this was my first experience with the genre. I absolutely hated this game, mostly because I genuinely couldn't understand the concept; I remember thinking it was so hard and unfair when I got mobbed in the first mission. It wasn't until MGS2, which I played knowing full well what it was, that I fell in love with the godlike notion of picking who lives and who dies from beyond their perception. I played Fatal Shadows later on, and I liked it enough--but I still dream of maybe trying this one again.
