To anyone bilingual, I gotta ask, when it comes to saying foreign words (like English) while speaking the other language (like Spanish or Japanese) how am I supposed to say those names or words if there’s no actual translated equivalent in the language itself. Idk what the term is for it, but am I supposed to sound it out and say with that accent, vowels inflictions present in the language or do I just say the word normally like I wound in English, or is that just dependent on who I’m talking to? Like in Spanish or Japanese or something, the character name “Sonic” in Spanish it’s still just sonic but in JP it’s Sonikku. Am I supposed to just speak regularly in the language, but then when I get to the “sonic” part I just sound it out or say it with like some kind of an accent so it still aligns with the rest of the tone I was speaking? (Cause when I say something in Spanish my voice completely changes and sounds different from my English) Because I feel like if I were to just say that specific name the exact same way I would in English, I’d just sound exactly like How tendou does here (Or that way the game developer Toby fox sounds when he says Touhou project in English while speaking perfect Japanese) 💀
@azkatakebayashi1517 Жыл бұрын
@@theradionicrevival8068it depends on how you want yourself to sound like lol not that serious. If it’s like a specific name or a title from English and you’re speaking in Japanese, then obviously you’ll use the original phrase, no? I reckon it’s all down to preference and to what degree you think that what you say sounds stupid or not lmao by the way it’s perfectly normal to say “Sonikku” instead of Sonic when speaking in Japanese.
