Shinji's whole life : - Mom died mysteriously. - Dad threw him away without saying anything. - 7 years later, father calls him only to tell him to "Get into the robot, fight, and die... or LEAVE!" - Had to live through whatever life is presented to him, surrounded by bad adults. - Father literally forced Shinji to "kill" his friend, got yelled at and punished for complaining. - Got a new friend and was (again) forced to kill him. - The only one left beside him is a bitchy girl and a bad adult. - In the end, everyone told him to man up and carry the world's fate.
