Amazing how often legislation produces the least effective yet most expensive "solution" to real problems. Will teachers be able to take out an armed intruder? - No, the teacher will be the first person killed. Will gun toting teachers be required to take training and annual certification to take a gun onto school grounds and in the classroom? - Yes, they must meet and maintain at least minimum proficiency requirements. Who pays for the training? - The underpaid teachers, out of their own pocket. What can go right with a teacher carrying a gun? - I've found nothing so far. What can go wrong with a teacher carrying a gun? - Any and every thing involving a gun. Will insurance costs go up where teachers carry guns? - Yes, do you need to ask? Who is responsible and/or liable when the gun is used improperly? - The Court must decide. Has any good guy with a gun ever stopped a bad guy with a gun in a school or classroom? - No. What about armed security guards or law enforcement. - There's a reason you don't hear about this happening. Ban military assault weapons, like the AR-15, and shift the money to be spent on guns for teachers to school supplies, support, teachers, and staff?
