Police have no duty to try to stop this or any crime and most of the time have no interest in making it to the scene while the crime is still happening and the officer may put themselves at risk. See DeShaney vs. Winnebago and Town of Castle Rock vs. Gonzales. The polices official job is pretty much traffic enforcement and running errands for the DA.

I've worked at that mall at Chik Fil A. The restaurant was close to one of the main entrance/exits. I saw crazy stuff when I worked there for a good whole year. It's called the "CoolSprings Galleria". It's a really good mall since mullets were popular haha. They use to have a pet store, and it turned into a freaking Claire's! 🙄
