I understand why you gave the analysis you did, and I can’t expect you to understand Ohio State football and the situation you were in, but this is a deeply flawed analysis that is based on a myth that so many SEC teams’ fans have about the Big 10 generally and OSU specifically. Tennessee was never going to beat that team. They are not on the same level. Not even close. Michigan did not “provide the blueprint.” Ohio State’s game plan against Michigan didn’t even try to do ANY of the things they just did to UT. Why? I don’t know; it’s a mystery why they just kept banging into the UM D line - especially since OSU’s 2 best offensive linemen - both future high NFL draft picks - are injured and out for the season. OSU didn’t even try to get the ball to their playmakers against Michigan. Just kept running up the middle all day and only throwing in obvious pass situations. It’s almost like they were trying to lose. Had UT tried to “press” OSU’s WRs, the Buckeyes might have scored 80. They simply can’t match up with that elite talent. As you wisely alluded to, however, UT engaged in defensive coaching malpractice by continuing to try to play man coverage. Jeremiah Smith is the best WR in the country. Emeke Ebuka is an NFL 1st round draft pick. Carnell Tate - who you don’t even have to see much of - is also a future 1st rounder. UT’s DBs had no shot whatsoever playing 1v1 on those guys. In space, it’s simply not a fair fight. I’ve listened to SEC fans claim for years that OSU would be nothing more than a slow middle of the pack SEC team. That’s so absurd it doesn’t even warrant a remark. Fool around and find out. UT is a very good team with very good talent. OSU has elite talent. Doesn’t mean they’ll always win (obviously), and their coaching and mental toughness is suspect, but when playing the way they should, they are well beyond where UT is right now. That score should have been far worse than it was…

Sorry to say it but, Nebraska and Xichigan gave you the blueprint to what happens when our coaches don't do their job. Last night, the coaches did their job and allowed our players to play their game. When you put the game in the hands of the talented players.......They Win! I have no idea what was said during that players/coaches meeting after the L 2 weeks ago, but I think it went something like this: "Coach, let us play our game". Tennessee is a very good team. Hold your heads high. That freshman QB is going to ball in the next few years. As for coaching at Tennessee, drop the 2 extra wide outs scheme......way too one dimensional.

OSU fan here: 😂😂😂 I don’t think you watched the Nebraska or scUM games compared to other OSU games this year. Nebraska and scUM had no blueprint to beat OSU; OSU beat themselves. That is why OSU fans have been so upset. Ryan Day has a problem with trying to prove he and his team are tough like Marty McFly in Back to the Future. Ryan has even publically said he wanted to come out and prove they were tougher than scUM by winning the rushing game. Stupid Marty McFly. If this team is firing on all cylinders, no one beats them. Their biggest obstacle to success is Ryan Day’s temperament and mental blocks. Even the loss to Oregon was because of poor clock mismanagement, which has been another problem for Ryan Day in the past. Plain and simple lesson: Tennessee and the SEC got exposed a bit, Ryan Day needs to put his ego on the shelf, and OSU is a legit title contender.

You keep saying these other teams had the blue print. The problem is that OSU was dealing with a patchwork O line for a lot of the year and particularly against Michigan. The line they rolled out there was much more cohesive and dominated in pass protection. OSU also adjusted know where their weaknesses are and the play calling gave Howard time. Also saying that a guy who in in the top 5 in passing efficiency is not good is a moronic take. Howard was throwing fades on dimes and checking off to crossing routes. That’s the sign of a good QB.

My honest opinion. The Vols used the scUM Blue Print coming into this game. Problem is that OSU used the same blueprint , as to not let it happen again. Throwing the deep ball right off the bat , while showcasing the Buckeyes formula 1 WR squad totally took TN away from the drawn out game plan. You mentioned how easy it was for OSU horizontally and in the Flats. That was due to the Vols having to keep 2 safeties back, along with forcing the LB’s to help cover the slot receiver. Especially when OSU put one in motion. Even when the Vols tried to stack 8 , it left either the TE wide open, or Jaylen Smith in a 1 on 1 out of the Slot. As far as the Buckeye Defense….. That’s a totally different monster that’s been consistent all year. But the Vols QB is tough and played his heart out. He took a pounding , and kept them in a position where it wasn’t too far out of hand. Mainly with his legs. Guy’s got guts , and I believe a bright future.

It felt like Nico was the only Tennessee player not bothered by the cold. Got his helmet cracked early on and just kept on playing hard and taking hits. Almost everyone else looked sluggish like they were half frozen out there.

Tennessee fans ought to be proud of their team. Nico Iamaleava is a WARRIOR, bro literally got his helmet cracked open and jumped right back up. Coach Huepel is a great coach and recruiter, and I fully expect the Vols to bounce back next year. Glad to have y’all in the shoe! Go Bucks! Beat Oregon!

@@Volsfanatic-kn3xw yeah man. Anytime a team has a bad game and they lose, they get roasted online by idiots who don’t understand football. I was very nervous as a Buckeye going into this game, because I knew how dangerous you all are.

Yall know the one rule YOU NEVER PUSH SOMEONE when they are down, exp if that person is a jacked UFC fighter whos got military training lmao honestly the Vols fans contributed a little to this outcome. Trolling Ohio State by hacking or watever and buying up 30k tickets and renaming Ohio State stadium to Neyland North lol Like wtf were you guys thinking the fans just kept on trolling. Watch a bad Will Howard win the Natty, yall couldve had Joe Burrow and still wouldve lost. Its not your fault the Vols lost its the huge amount of trolls that really lit the fire. The vol fans were so convincing the team came out with there shirts off. Yall have a young QB with a good arm and new OL guys coming in, so there is a light at the end of the tunnel. OSU has had these losses before in the playoffs it just comes with being a good team, sometimes you run into 1 of the top 2 teams in cfb and its not fair but its how they seeded it. Now i do think the playoffs need to be changed, The vols shoudlve been hosting Clemson, boise, ASU, or SMU but because of the shit deal the commish from ea conf agreed to BIG10 and SEC schools have to take each other out before getting deeper into the playoffs. The next round looks like 2 auto byes and maybe 2 games, depending on how Oregon comes out after a month of not playing,. can they shake off the rust, not to mention OSU knew if they won theyd be playing Oregon so it allowed for even more preperation. The Vols are a strong program who can bounce back, just dont die off like clemson did after OSU destroyed them. Good luck next year guys

@cf71727Ай бұрын
As a Buckeyes fan, I thoroughly enjoyed this but offensively, Chip Kelly added wrinkles that weren't on film such as putting Jeremiah Smith in the slot. We also incorporated more of a vertical passing game so the assessment of Nebraska and Michigan is inaccurate since we went out with a different game plan.

I don’t understand why we didn’t do that against Michigan. We would’ve stomped Michigan.
@cf71727Ай бұрын
@@anthonyaliberti I agree. We should have relied on the strengths of our receivers more than what we did in that game. You seen Jeremiah draw two DPIs in the end zone in that game that would have been touchdowns if it wasn't committed. He's a cheat code!
@DennisStanleyTheManАй бұрын
Even before their RB got hurt, TN was down 21-0. It would not have made a difference. The Vols had 179 yards against OSU's 1st team defense, but the problem wasn't just offense. NE and MI didn't have a blueprint, OSU just inexplicably tried running the ball first, they did not make that same mistake this game. OSU did whatever they wanted thowing the ball, and it opened up the running game. OSU's first team offensive possessions: TD, TD, TD, not an INT, Punt, FG miss, TD, TD, TD. Then the 2nd and 3rd string QB's came in early in the 4th to finish the game.

Tennessee for not even second was gonna win this game. Absolute shit show.
@bbkyjohnsonАй бұрын
A big thing here is the attitude on offense. With the desire to throw the ball downfield we become a different team. Much more dangerous. The only difference between this team on offense and the one that lost to UGA a few years ago is the QB isn’t as good but he’s got so many weapons.

If the rest of the team would have played with even half of the heart that their qb did, it could have been a much closer game. It was still thrilling to see the Buckeyes back to kicking ass.

One thing i noticed is that the UT front seven was overhyped. They lived off pressure against subpar offensive lines. When they faced good fronts, the defense struggled hard.

Buckeye Fan. Good video, I was worried about all the same things you thought would be an advantage. We all still wonder how we lost to Michigan. I have to wonder why your defensive coordinator kept playing man coverage, I loved it, but I’m sure it frustrated the hell out of you all. It was probably Will Howard’s best game, and I’ve never seen a team come into the Shoe with those numbers. Tennessee fans should be proud of themselves, you did everything in your power to support your team. Nico is a warrior, I thought the cold might get to him, but he was amazingly tough.
