Yes, they look at a mark that has nothing to do with that shot and is far deeper than the original. You can even see a mark that looks like it is caused by the lob on the baseline. I can understand the frustration and frankly because I also doubt that his opponents sincerely believed the ball was out. They just figured they could get away with being dishonest and they did.

I think calibration on clay is problem
@psyclops9732 жыл бұрын
Challenge systems for clay are extremely expensive because the uneven terrain means you need dozens of laser calibrated cameras to provide an accurate 3d rendition of the court. For hardcourt, since the surface is 100% flat you only need a handful of cameras. But for clay you need a lot more. The Estoril Open in Portugal will have one of such systems this year, called Foxxten, and the tournament director said to portuguese media that this system, while nearly 100% accurate, will end up costing a small fortune because it needs 40 cameras synchronized by 10 lasers to work properly.

This is why I think Rugby Refs should also Umpire Tennis, the way they wield respect on the Rugby pitch is impressive and they're not afraid to dish out discipline.
@knotwilg35963 жыл бұрын
The culture is totally different. In rugby the respect starts with the players.
@seltaeb9691 Жыл бұрын
It's instilled from the start in Rugby in both codes. Goes back to 19thC Private Schools/Univ on field discipline & respect of your betters & it somehow stayed amazingly, even with big money in the rugby game now it has still not been altered. How you see the game from the start on TV as children dictates then into adults. In fact if you look at the Olympics it's the same there. Football has improved itself a lot too how it is now, but Tennis is stand out alone in terrible behaviour on court, even for the first time this Wimbledon with Djokovic smashing his racket on the tennis post. That really was bad by Djokovic. Tennis players behaviour needs to change now from as children & how they see it on court no matter in the back of the beyond it all imprints on young susceptible minds. It's really bad at present & the lack of respect of officials. Playback on court should be available to make a disputed decision but juvenile behaviour should not be tolerated.
