This lesson is a great lesson JM. I would like to follow up with the TIMING to rotate the body to hit the ball: After preparation phase, WHEN do I start to uncoil/rotate to hit the ball? I guess the exact point is when my knee bend at the lowest point and at the same time when my racket face is furthest back - face down parallel to the ground?

Good points and demonstration. Good to someone offering coaching advice that can actually hit a ball with advanced stroke conformity! What was the previous video/demonstration?

Hi there, this is just a cut from many videos Im doing right now and will be uploading soon on weekly basis so when I mentioned the previous video that one is not up, please check the video about serve and use and importance of legs etc..All these videos are aimed to help "adult club players" with already decent level as thats what I normally work with here in Costa Brava and Barcelona and to help them to get better. Glad you like it and more to come :-)

JM Tennis thanks for follow up .... there is so much misinformation, BS, and confusion about the FH both on and offline and how it should be taught. It is simply the worst taught stroke in tennis by far IMHO. Maybe you can do a series of progressions on fundamentals and advanced stroke mechanics and exercises.

I think thats because FH has been going through the change, now we are teaching modern forehand so more from open stance and from right leg rather than like 15 years ago when close stance was the basic for all..but yes all will come in next videos..;-) will keep you in loop..thx

JM Tennis the open stance has been around for ages, Borg used it most of the time and hit heavy TopSpin, more pro players and coaches followed his path ..... most players on tour hit with Western family grips, most coaches in North America hit with Eastern and cannot hit the Western family FH, they don't understand the mechanics of that grip and swing.

It would be helpful if can clarify stance and grip relationship. There is both rotation AND weight transfer in the stance you are using/demonstating. We don't know what grip you are using and if/how that matters with this exercise. Thanks.

I’m not criticising you as I I think your stuff is great but we need to make sure we use our non Playing arm as a break so we can transfer the energy into the arm and through to the tip of the racket or would end up doing a body swing and not transferring the energy. We need to use the counter muscles. Core must be still at contact. Sorry my friend I’m not disagreeing with you but if you can understand my point. Thanks Jan.

Hi Ronnie - yes I get your point - this video is just very general to remind players to use “whole body” as most of them just hitting with arm only... So yes if we go into details there is lots of things to mention for sure ;-) thanks for valuable input!

Maybe easier to time at the beginning by letting the ball bounce twice ?

Yes, good point, start like that and then back to "normal ball" :-)
