I would like to see a lesson on dealing with different types of players in either singles or doubles matches. For example, someone who serves and volleys, a powerhitter, poacher, and so on.

So good Nick❤ I was totally unaware of the dynamic move and non-dominant leg while hitting a forehand on the run. Exactly what I needed. I will try to incorporate that in my game. Thank you so much🤝

Coach Nick, I tried this on my Forehand for the past two weeks with my coach and coaching group and without my coach and coaching group (ball machine and with one another my level person) Observation 1 (Forehand) Without coach and coaching group Ball Machine 1. I know whether the ball will come as I set up the machine. So, my preparation and footwork was on point. Meaning, I can remember the process for the whole one hour without any trouble. Even when, I increased the speed and spin of the ball machine, still I could do it, because its easy to remember and repeat. With another my level person 1. This was not that difficult, as I played with person before, reading and anticipating the ball was ok. Still, as the situation is dynamic, for the first half hour I could think and change my foot and preparation and rotation. After 30 minutes, I have to give too much focus to the weight transfer and foot. Overall, success rate was 25%-30% Observation 2 With Coach and Coaching Group 1. I tried to remember the footwork, preperation and weight transfer, my coach was closely watching while we did the warmup. 2. Once we started practising, many players including me, became moonballers. Additionally, the balls were too high as it was new Wilson Trinit balls. I could not understand this balls at all. 3. Consequently, I felt irritated as the back and forth was not seemless with new balls and new people (though I know them, din play with them for two months). In 15 minutes, my weight transfer was gone, could not do any reliable cross court or down the line balls. As, all the situation became very dynamic and no time for predictability, my game became poor and eventually my legs started to shake out of uneasiness and pressure, which I never had in the last 3 months. Conclusion. When the conditions are predictable, I am fine to a decent extent. But when the conditions are unpredictable from balls, people, and coaching, I fail. Question 1. I noticed the backhand rotations and perparations with closed stance is ok, but open stance and semi open stance is poor. I tried to use the forehand analogy, but I could not do it. Could you make the same for backhand. 2. Is there any thing with the ball itself also? I know, I am trying my best to blame it on the ball, but I tried with X-Core Technifibre new balls and they are not this bouncier. Appreciation & Thanks: Through this video, I learnt and remembered the preparation and footwork for different situations in forehand and in some siutations I am able to remember, focus and execute. But for many dynamic situations I could not do it. It seems, many more repetitions are needed untill its involuntary.

that's exactly my problem when the match starts and I have to move on the court. Very good summary of the issues. I start to rotate on some balls these days fortunately. If I am correct Nikola, note that for the short balls, you use two types of steps, the running type and the side steps type, which makes senses but it may be useful for the viewers to be aware of that

Great and informative video Nik! Do you have any videos or thoughts on when you rotate too soon? I find that players at the average rec level rotate too soon or open up too much whereas if you watch pros do it, their rotation almost seems very compact.

This is very good and timely video. Thanks Nic. I have an issue - my swing somehow seems to end a little abrupt, and hence the follow through doesn’t look right in the video …. Is there a way I can send you my forehand video for your advice on what might be the issue, please 🙏? Do let me know if it’s possible. Thanks

Nick how would you approach the 2nd situation forehand on a clay court. What should we do to fully rotate while sliding into the shot
@IntuitiveTennis3 ай бұрын
That’s a great question I talk about it briefly here kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKaVimqPnM5lfrMsi=hdjjdm0nDdGugQ8T Sometimes slide, sometimes set it depends

For me the rotation (at least thats the mindset) starts with non dominant hand I think that it should already wait tucked in when I make contact - it helped me when I realised that but it falls down two quickly so I am working on that, it rotates but around waist level and then I tuck it in

2 things: 1. I can go on KZbin and find in less than one minute a video of Djokovic hitting with his dominant shoulder behind. (More time he will get the dominant shoulder in front, less time he most likely won’t). So it depends 2. Who is your target audience? If it’s your average rec player I would think they need to get down the fundamentals and perhaps start with closed stance not worrying so much about the rotation of the hips and the dominant v non dominant shoulder. If this is meant for Sinner or Alcaraz then I apologize

I've seen most of the slow motion FH videos and I don't recall ones where Djokovic is hitting his shoulder behind (Not counting serve returns or defensive shots). Do you have a link to one in particular?
@Keepontruckin19043 ай бұрын
@@rsh8057 yeah I’ll make you a video and provide a link when I have time. Maybe within the next few days. Honestly I just typed in djokovic hitting and found multiple. Same with Federer. Like I said the faster the ball the harder it is to get the dominant shoulder in front (which goes along with what you are saying). However I can also find neutral balls from the middle where this also happens which probably has to do with closed stance or even depth of ball
@Keepontruckin19043 ай бұрын
@@rsh8057 kzbin.info/www/bejne/hKCzeKiBhsyKjKs Hopefully this goes through. Just made this real quick so didnt have a lot of time to find different forehands. Anyway upper body rotation is a product of time and the coil mostly. Hope this helps
